I almost didn’t notice it, but he actually disguised himself as Zhang Tie, one of his best friends from the early season. He eventually became known as Qu Hun. It’s still sad that he is not here anymore, and bro is never mentioned like other characters who are close to Han Li. At least Han Li is using his appearance, so that means he still remembers him. 😌 😌 😌 If people still remember, his body was used as the new vessel for the Bone Sage, and then Han Li pretty much killed him in the end.

Here comes the Essay of Sufferings!
Although not kidding, the animators straight up drop hints that the Fu…FOOLS family are scumbags who don’t even care about the mortals WORKING for them. If you don’t believe it, go and take a closer look at the start. The Inn along the Purple Road Mountain is surrounded by purple fog. Keep in mind that they make it purple to let us know these are poisonous. There’s one of these clouds that are very close to a smaller building beside the Inn (possibly a storehouse). Plus later, we learn from the 2 robbers that if mortals enter the purple fog areas by accident, they will 100% get lost and die 3 days later. So it isn’t a quick death, it’s a slow and painful one, and probably despairing as well.
Now Han Li is disguised as Zhang Tie. The two robbers Peng and Yi are testing him. Because Han Li claims to be from Xu Kingdom, the major Sect there is Ghost Spirit Sect, his wealthy-looking (bulging) storage bag, a powerful (expensive) looking Flying Sword and knowing a secret technique to detect people’s Spirit Roots Attributes so why didn’t he try to join the Sect. They are trying to see if Han Li is running away from Xu Kingdom or not. Han Li’s response is also testing the two, claiming he doesn’t have background hence difficult to get into the Sect. His half-assed etiquette to the two robbers, vague answers and wealth makes the 2 robbers convinced that Han Li is probably an Elite from a Sect. Han Li is testing if these two will want to rob him or not. If robbers in the area dare to try and rob+kill visitors heading to Fu Family’s Party, it means the Fu Family also don’t care about crimes. You just need to do 1 thing: Be afraid of the Fool Family.
One of the robbers sticking 2 chopsticks upright on the food is mimicking the Chinese ritual of worshiping the dead indicating what they planned on doing to Han Li. My guess is Han Li saw these two have the Fool Family Invitations and he got close to them to get the invitation from them. But he wants to know what kind of people they are before deciding how he is going to get it from them. If they are not murderous robbers, there’s a very high chance that Donghua’s Han Li may even give them a lot of Spirit Stones and Elixirs in exchange for the Invitation. Too bad for criminals, Karma’s a bitch who never misses any retribution, at least that’s what Ancient Chinese believe and Chinese in places like Taiwan, Hongkong and Singapore still believe to a high degree.
The Spirit Baby is 1 of the 5 Element Nascent Souls of a high level in Yuling/Spirit Commandeering Sect, the Wood Attribute. Han Li discovered that he cannot detect the Spirit Baby (note, at this point, it is not his Nascent Soul yet) with his Divine Sense, so he releases 12 Flying Swords. This is 3 times more than what he can manage in Core Stage, but it is still not his true strength. Han Li legitimately couldn’t find the Spirit Baby, however, it was too arrogant and got tricked into exposing itself by Han Li. Even then, it still dares to reveal its Cultivation Level with “If I eat you, would I be able to reach Middle Nascent Soul?” (In the novel, the 5-Elements Spirit Babies have lower intelligence than humans, cocky because they are born powerful like Nascent Souls)
Han Li starts by using a fusion of Sword Shadow Clones Spell and Gigantic Sword Skill to send out 12 Giant Sword Clones to attack the Spirit Baby’s Plant attacks. Han Li does this all the time, uses the Spell to create swords that look very real to mislead people into thinking his attack power is lower than it actually is, then uses a real sword that is a few times stronger to sneak attack them. The Spirit Baby’s arrogance is obvious when we see it using 1 hand to block Han Li’s sword spell, this is why Han Li’s real sword can take down all its plants, although in the time Han Li destroys all its plants, the Spirit Baby was able to react and avoided the sword. For a brief moment, Han Li used Diving Lightning to stop the swords that were flung back at him. But after he sends it back, the lightning vanishes. Judging from Han Li being extremely curious about the Spirit Baby and the fact that he did get a very powerful sealing box from the Nascent Soul Corpse Demon, I am assuming Han Li decided to use the Divine Lightning Web to capture the Spirit Baby from the start or else, Han Li could’ve killed or seriously injured the Spirit Baby with the real sword if he went for the Spirit Baby instead of clearing out all the Plants.
Han Li probably used the lightning briefly to boost the power of the swords, letting the Spirit Baby think that is Han Li’s full strength, which led to the Spirit Baby using the flower petal storm move to trap Han Li. Han Li deploys his 12 Swords Barrier and starts casting the Divine Lightning Dragon’s spell. Han Li is basically using the Spirit Baby’s Petal Storm and his own Sword Shields as a smokescreen for casting the spell. Previously Han Li avoided using the Lightning to attack the Spirit Baby directly were all preparations for this moment. We can even see the Spirit Baby’s surprised face when Han Li’s dragon took out all its Plants and Petals in an instant? If the Spirit Baby is an evil entity… let’s just say “Existence Erasure” Yeah that powerful.
But the Spirit Baby is not an evil entity. You can even see it stand still to smell the Lightning Dragon’s smelly lightning breath. The Spirit Baby’s IQ and battle IQ aren’t high, this is quite obvious from its behavior thus far, so when it sees that the Divine Lightning barely did any damage to it and Han Li still make the dragon chase after it caused the Spirit Baby to think that Han Li is finally out of options, I can’t help but think this is how stupid the Spirit Baby is due to how it has been behaving… anyways, when the Spirit Baby allowed itself to be swallowed and it seemed to be preparing to do something… My guess is, it wanted to One Shot what it sees as Han Li’s ultimate move only for Han Li to change the Dragon into a Net to capture it. I think he planned this from the start because Han Li has a constant track record of doing so and also he was clearly curious about the Spirit Baby.
Spirit Commandeering Sect…I’m gonna use pinyin, 特妈的又是拼音… Yuling Sect, we see a lot of bells, even Liu Yu has a bell around her solar plexus. I guess the bell is the Yuling Sect’s trademark. Spoiler Alert, I see a new Spirit Beast for Han Li…. The man speaking to Liu Yu is Yuling Sect’s Grand Elder Dong Mentu, Nascent Soul Middle Stage. So don’t think the noob Han Li fought today is weak. It is dumb but it’s without a doubt, a Nascent Soul level adversary. Yun Xiao and Xin Ruyin make cameos in the easter egg. Looks like they were not doing very well thanks to the Fool Family whose favorite pastime is to rob and kick people when they are down.

Even the Fanren Logic turns red showing we’ll be seeing blood next episode and it’s not a battle, it’s a 1 sided slaughter.
