they switch the position of the character who should have died in the novel, but in donghua it was better because in the novel it felt cliche. I think the adventure in the Jin Empire will still be there, because in the novel the elder which in Donghua was made to die entrusting his treasure directly to Han Li

Tianji, the one that calls the shots outside of the village (his deal with the elder), turned out to be the leader of the opposing faction inside the village who disagrees with the elder’s machinations. Had to go back episode 140 to get his name.
He was hostile to Han Li and Mei Ning and he wanted both of them to leave immediately even just after arriving at the village. Well, he knows if they stick around they’ll end up as sacrifices. He assaulted Mei Ning to make them leave once again before the 3 days was up when they decided to stay.
Perhaps 3 more episodes before Han Li gets out of the underworld.

I wonder about those netherworld crystals that Han is collecting. He remembers they were the brains or power source for the puppets in Void Heaven, and this has some interesting implications. The keepers of Void Heaven would need to replenish their supply of crystals to recreate those “troublesome” puppets which reappear inside Void Heaven when it returns every 300 years or so. So there must be a reliable entrance and exit to the netherworld that these keepers know, and maybe that why Han is so certain.
Because of the limited human lifespan, nobody trapped there would remember anyone leaving, but surely it must happen for the rumor to exist that climbing the mountain is the way out. Further, those who know the escape route would return to collect those crystals only after they know how to retain their powers to kill the netherworld beasts, extract the crystals and return safely. We see that some cultivator bloodlines do retain some magic in the netherworld.
So the keepers of Void Heaven may depend like spiders on cultivators being trapped in the web. Maybe another source of crystals is feeding those who die in Void Heaven to the netherworld beasts. So at least they know to recycle! I also wonder if the netherworld is the ultimate destination of cultivators who are trapped in void heaven when it disappears.
Anyway, I predict Han will use the crystals he collected to make a new generation of puppets based on “void” technology, assuming there aren’t more pressing other uses.
