Here we go fam!!! Been waiting all week for this. They made their entrance so epic that you would still remember it like it was yesterday. Han Li is not fazed by him. Welp, looks like things got heated there for a moment. What the hell was that about?? Everyone’s freaking faces when Bai Haozhi made a move, and he just got launched to the back. And did I hear him right? Han Li said it was a sword qi transformed into threads, it’s the same thing we saw in Tales of Herding Gods with Qin Mu.
I think it had something to do with what the little monk said, right?? Bro stayed in this sect for that long, I guess he was mocking him for not being able to break through to Nascent Soul yet. 🤔 🤔 🤔 Sad life for him, I guess.

The sword qi transformed into threads they have it fam but of course Qin Mu didn’t learn it since he said he was slow when it comes to that so the Village Chief only taught him one move with the sword.
There is a new school of sword art that uses qi threads to remotely control a bunch of swords, pretty sure you had seen those, in the arc where the small group of people accidentally found and entered the wasteland…. There was a debate on whether which is the better sword art (traditional method where swords are physically wielded vs the remote manipulation method)

Hey guys! I’m here to torture yall with my excessive long essay again! Mwuahahahahaha!
Let’s start with the trivias because that’s what I do anything.
New Opening Theme
Senior Wei (Drifting Clouds) was overcome by inner demon and fight Huo Long (Old Swords’ Nascent Soul)
What seems to be Han Li condensing his Nascent Soul and the Drifting Clouds activates its Sect Protective Formation. The phenomenon caused by Han Li’s False Roots condensing his Nascent Soul is more spectacular than normal. Why multiple Spirit Roots is harder. You need at least 4 times more power to breakthrough, furthermore, at lower levels, each Element is too small in scale to achieve Symbiotic / complements each other. But they sure as hell can conflict. Making the actual amount needed to be at least 8~10 times meaning False Roots breaking thru to Nascent Soul effects is like 8~10x greater than normal. They had to closed off the whole Sect and a few dozen Mountains and lands around them (a medium sized European Country area) to keep the Spirit Energies from getting blown out of the Sect.
Combining with Ending Theme, we see the simp turned aggressive creep whispering something to Mu Peiling’s ears and gets his ass whooped by her. Gathering from Song Yu’s dialogue with the Old guy who said he wants to try to go for nascent soul, I guess, being the noob and idiot that he is, he thinks the phenomenon was caused by the Old Guy (who is a distantly related Elder of the idiot’s family) and thinks he is now as great and important as a Nascent Soul and tried to coerce Mu Peiling into becoming his Dao Companion. Dude is probably going to get very annoying until Han Li successfully reach Nascent Soul.
There are 4 different colored vortexes in the phenomenon and the spirit pressured caused by Han Li for simply existing is so strong that people had to activate their Shields just to be able to withstand it. Mu Peiling’s expression is shocked probably because she realized the one condensing Nascent Soul is Han Li.
Now to torture you with excessive trivias in the Episode.
To torture you even more, I strongly encourage you to watch the episode as you read my nonsense mwuahahahahahahahahaha!
First, look at the 100s Tricks and Old Swords Disciples’ attires. They are very uniform while Drifting Clouds’ attire are more diverse. The unified attire is subtly telling us the 100 Tricks Institute and Old Sword Sect place strong emphasis on Sect identity, while Drifting Clouds’ diverse clothings means they encourage individual identity and expressions, also to mean their cultivation culture doesn’t just focus on 1: Strength: in order to compete to win for the interests and glory of the Sect like what most Sects are doing. That is why they can raise someone like Sun Huo who is strong but not so stuck up that his head is shoved up into his ass to try and outdo Kakashi’s 1000 years of pain.
Joking aside, I want to talk a little about the side characters talking because the animation studio made effort to stay consistent with the lore. The 100 Skillful/Tricks Institute is known for making magic equipment and thus, their ranged attacks are powerful to the point where the Old Sword’s Disciples who are supposed to be good at attacking (melee and ranged alike) deploys Sword defense to surround himself.
This shows that the Old Swords despite being the strongest overall is weaker than 100 Tricks in ranged firepower and this is common knowledge. Just interesting to note that they would pay attention to details even for side characters who will probably not show up anymore.
Next is Han Li’s battle.
Mu Peiling and the other fellow disciples, even the background characters show concern for Han Li’s safety. (Qi Refiner facing Foundation is no joke under normal circumstances, we’re looking at 40 ~ 50 times difference in raw power)
Han Li didn’t really need to use the flames manipulation technique he learned from the old Qi refiner in previous seasons to defeat the Foundation Stage and ‘perfect block’ a Foundation Stage’s attacks with Talismans with Qi Refiner. He did this and control the explosions to leave the battlefield unscathed is not just to avoid getting disqualified, he is also showing off his wealth and skill, in case people accuse Drifting Clouds of giving a Qi Refiner Talismans to cheat or Han Li is all money no skill, he and his Sect can refute.
This is why not only Song Yu and his Waif- I mean direct Superior Mu Peiling, everyone in Drifting Clouds smiled. He is making the Sect look good. We also have Song Yu saying earlier that Han Li was just Qi Refiner Level 10 during the Sect’s selection and now, he’s 11th Level. It is very difficult to increase levels, being able to do so, shows that he is talented or is wealthy or both. Han Li’s actions is responding to Song Yu’s words: He is both.
It’s easy for an older, stronger Core Stage big brother who knows everything to help little Core stage sister to make her look good to her peers!
Subsequently, it felt like Han Li set himself loose a bit. I’d say about 1% of his true power when you see him ‘Perfect Dodge’ another Foundation Stage at very close quarters. Not only he scored with the Ball while being chased by a Foundation Stage’s swords, he turned around to neutralize the flying magic swords with his talismans that turns magic spells into flower petals. Rich, Strong, Capable young man who is brave and smart and knows how to make spells visually pleasing to the female gaze. You sure this is the same dude who spent 16 minutes rejecting Mei Ning and later Ziling, number one beauty of Chaos Star Ocean in the previous episodes?
Other than that, he even manipulated flames into little firebirds to chase cultivators around while he score again. He is making his Sect looks good. Also helping make Song Yu looks good. No wonder girl has more smiles.
Now to Sun Huo’s fight. We see him learn from Du Dong’s strategy. Applying spirit power on his sword right before he attacks. This guy is learning and do have some talents. No wonder he’s 1 of Han Li’s favorites in Drifting Clouds.
Han Li deliberately lose 2 rounds to not stand out. He has accurately created the image of rich, capable and gutsy, but not the strongest.
In the Forbidden Grounds (where the Spirit Tree is at), Han Li pretend to be a newbie Qi Refiner looking around, but he is actually using his 8.5th Sense to scan the area and he has noticed where the 3 Sects’ additional Core Stages are hidden. There’s virtually no chance of the other Core Stages can detect his scanning. The only one with any chance of detecting his scanning is Song Yu with her 8.1 ~ 8.2th Sense and this will only happens if the naughty big brother who knows everything targets cute baby sis with his scanning
“Big Brother is coming to tickle you with this feather RAAAAAWR!!!” gotta play with little sis like big bro or Han Li is going to become the smart, strong and brave Uncle who knows everything in a few episodes’ time. Oh and Big bro about to become uncle have a present for you. A big fluffy white teddy bear wrapped in gift box!
Yes, Han Li is smurfing and its very unfair to the foundation stages here. But keep in mind, Han Li already showed restrain, took it very easy on the kids and losing to him is an experience that will help them far more than any rewards that they can get from winning.
Silvermoon spoiled a little about the background of Fanren when she mentioned the Great War tens of thousands of years ago.
PS: The 9 Spirits Sword Body is Mortal Realm’s 9 Great Constitution suited for Sword Cultivation and is incredibly strong for its level. If Han Li runs into a guy like this at Foundation Stage and they fight, it’ll be an epic battle comparable to Foundation Han Li vs Core Stage or Han Li vs Wen Tianren. To give perspective of how strong it is.
Sun Huo plays the role of a mood maker. Naturally, he’s the one who fell asleep while the Core Stages were discussing matters. We see Song Yu turned around to glare at him made him scared and jumped into flying sword the moment the Core Stages fly off. This again is consistent in showing the difference of Drifting Cloud with other two Sects.
The Old Sword’s Nascent Soul Huolong is playing Go Chess against the Disciple Nephew Wei, is the Core Stage mentioned in the previous episode between Song Yu and the Old Guy who said he was going to try to breakthrough into Nascent Soul (Actually he knows he don’t have much chances, the old man knows his time is almost up and success chance is only 20%, this is just trying for the last time to be able to rest in peace, only a Sect like Drifting Clouds would be willing to do this for someone who worked all his life for the Sect but lacks the power. In other Sects, it would be the toxic environment you see in Fanren all the time. I had to keep saying this to remind myself because I almost forgot this is Fanren)
The Disciple Nephew Wei is the true strongest Core Stage of Drifting Clouds who came to the Forbidden Grounds to cultivate and determined not to leave until he reached Nascent Soul.
Han Li clenched his fist at the sight of the Nascent Soul but release, I assume you can guess what went on in Han Li’s head.
When the Bai sword guy asked Huolong why he is here. Why you see Song Yu raised her hand spells at ready against him. Bai not knowing his own Sect’s Nascent Soul is here already hints that the Sect is hiding from him. If they sent a Nascent Soul here, then it means they are expecting a fight. This is why when Song Yu figured out everything, she realized something’s wrong about him and had spells ready to defend herself and the others. Du Dong also clenched his fist and is very nervous.
Next we see the difference between Foundation, Golden Core and Nascent Soul
Bai attacking the 9 Spirits Sword Body guy mentioned earlier, despite the strength I mentioned, the Core Stage’s speed is so fast, the guy’s body couldn’t react and get caught without resistance. (PS: If it is Han Li, the difference is even greater)
Then we see the difference of Nascent Soul with Golden Core. Bai got wrecked without even knowing what hit him causing Song Yu and the 100 Tricks bald guy to be surprised.
Only Han Li noticed Huo Long is so powerful, he can divide Sword Chi into undetectable strings and took the guy out.
In other words, if Huo Long is a bad guy who wants to kill everyone, only Han Li will be able to escape his initial attack while sustaining serious injuries, the rest will die without knowing what hit them.
Well, after Huo Long left, we can see Song Yu turned to look at Du Dong. She knows he is a spy. I guess seeing the fate of the other spy made him panicked because in the next episode’s preview which I saw on Bilibili, he revealed his Spy identity.
From the looks of things, Han Li should ascend to Nascent Soul in about 3~4 episodes

Remember, much like Core Stage is so stronk, even a sleeping Core Stage at their weakest whose defense is down might be able to One Shot a Foundation accidentally without knowledge (Core Stage Nangong Wan technically One Shotted Foundation Han Li while injured, weakened and unconscious)
The gap between Nascent Soul and Core Stage is roughly the same (slightly bigger in proportion)

The Nascent Soul said already, he is the Successor Disciple of a Big Cheese in the Righteous Alliance who has infiltrated the Old Sword Sect for over 100 years.
