well, if it’s qilin medicine, it’s understandable. they’re trying to compensate whatever didn’t happen previously. it’s supposed to happen before rescuing divine king in the novel. qilin medicine is quite crucial for the story development after all. many motives of the fight began from those people trying to snatch that medicine from ye fan’s hands.

Sun Wukong (Great Sage Equal to Heaven / Dasheng / 齐天大圣), Journey to the West, Nezha, it goes round and round, then sequels prequels alts and optionals back and forth, change gender or personality etc up and down, series to movies and movies to series and so on and so forth 😅😅 we’ll be seeing Wukongs in donghua and 2D till the end of times.

sun wukong is a stone monkey. it’s technically a different race from battle ape here. in STH term, sun wukong is more like holy/divine spirit race. but the description is more fitting to battle ape race. but, lemme say this, it’s probably more than typical chinese rinse and repeat. they mixed lots and lots of chinese legend and make a new lore out of it. trust me it will be intriguing. actually, i’d like to believe that but i lost faith in donghua.

nah bro, stuff like that should be more consistent. if you make new association it’s gonna be harder to make up actually. i’m trying to say that, the animation is over the top. i appreciate them working for it, but they make the plot like this. and some details are honestly not that good like the supposed purple eyes. did it become some eye above his head? the gold eye pattern is what appear when he just learned the heavenly source book. now he use that purple shining stone core, he should have purple hue on his eyes.
You know when they do animations fam, it’s always not going to be 100% consistent when it’s come to these things. I think they will always add something random to make it not seem copy pasting the entire book just to make it be different. Since novel and animations are different fam.
it’s a shame they skipped the staring scene between ye fan and the women, especially yaochi fairy. lol~ she knows that he got x-ray vis there. the interesting thing is that he tried to be ignorant but not slippery enough, instead he looked more daring. i heard that bcs the studio workers are mostly girls from tencent animation, which is why any kind of slight disrespect towards these women’s ideas are removed, even if it’s an element of a good story in whole. which is what happened to btth as well, dunno if this is right.
