BTG is probably one of the most violent donghua. MC tortures his opps.. enough to where theres comments on some episodes complaining that he is too cruel. he doesnt let anything slide. if you cross him, he will gut you like a pig.
The MC does not “torture” his ops in BTG. He has simply learned that leaving behind potential threats or those that can betray you isn’t an option. This is something most MCs in even the best Donghua (see RI, MGTI) have to learn and we don’t see its with this MC because he spends the bulk of his childhood in a post apocalyptic hellscape where children are not protected or immune to savagery. A better way to put it is Xu Qing is violent in a violent world, but he is also kind to his friends and associates and he won’t bother those that don’t bother him. Torture is what others do to treasure healers, the people they literally eat, and so on. He has a moral line unlike a lot of the filth he encounters.
