I heard lot of people dropped it because they hate SL author, who is did a lot of horrible things, so they don’t want to support him.
Damn, I didn’t know about that I think what I heard it’s because this one is like a copy paste of SL apparently and so many people just didn’t like Huo Yuhao in general.
Not because of that, its because the author banned a lot of popular novels because they were out-rankings the SL novels or something like that, he wanted to farm clout and was involved in scandal, and abused someone and a lot of other things I think there is a video about it on YouTube
So a lot of people hate him now.

there’s just as many who preferred Huo yuhao to tang san, but disliked how the author kept bringing tang san and putting him above everyone in sl 2 and 3 and maybe even 4. the auto insert is crazy since the tang sect and tang san are named after him so he doesn’t allow any other mc or characters to even get close to outshining tang san (or himself i guess)
honestly i also prefer Tang wulin and his story, but i hope they don’t change the focus in the manhua to the mechs and, at least keep the focus on martial souls and the armors i guess. i feel like the soul tools from soul land, the Mechs and Armors from SL3 and especially the spaceship bs from sl4 made the series gradually lose the mystique the First series had.
Besides that there’s plenty of stuff the author has done outside his own series, Tan yun explained a lot of them.

Ngl, this upcoming battle they are going to play is giving me deja vu vibes like what happened with SL1 but in this case they are more advance than the OG. I’m already expecting some crazy big booms coming from each others side. Especially how advanced their Soul Guide Technology is today. Wow the trailer at the end showed some stellar transformation. Li’er father is really a azzhole that sold his daughter for the hope of power. Too bad pretty sure qin yu will be even more powerful than the celestials very soon.
A few thoughts as SL2 comes to an end:
This war is relatively small compared to Soul Land 1. That was a beast to beat. But SL was world-building, setting the foundation for what was to come, so it makes sense it felt bigger. We were processing something new.
Most ppl who started watching donghua after that don’t realise how groundbreaking SL animation was, which is a huge reason why it made such an impression.
Soon after, SL2 came out with the new CGI tech that we’re used to now, so it’s easy to criticise – plus the fact that SL is more romantic in nature than most donghuas of its genre – but ppl should be aware of where it came from.
