Chinese pinyin is tricky. I can understand your confusion with the bad donghua subs everywhere. I believe animexin has changed their subbers and it has improved significantly. Not sure what animexin used for Liu Shen (Willow Deity/ Willow Goddess) before but for simplicity sake, let’s just use the English translation for Liu Shen as Willow Goddess. She has long left 9H10E, that’s why the last time she appeared to save SH, she told him she was only a sliver of her consciousness that she left behind to protect him.
P.S. The original English translation of PW novel actually used Willow Deity because the author never revealed her gender until much later. But the donghua fixed her gender as female from the beginning.
Translation is one of the biggest reasons if one can enjoy a donghua or not, but glad some sites do justice to them even tho it ain’t easy

I hate how much the animation quality has declined. It looks absolutely horrible, honestly… Whenever an anime or donghua is about to end, they always manage to ruin it one way or another instead of giving it the ending it deserves. What a shame. I never thought Perfect World would end up being even worse than Soul Land 1, with such a rushed ending.

P.S. Btw, it’s tough to beat Soul Land 1. The two authors are not even in the same level. For most impatient ppl, PW is just Shi Hao fighting everyone, but they fail to see every event and every arc reveal a giant maze interwoven with layers of intricate sub-plots. Like…
1.) Why is the lower realm so impoverished?
2.) Why some people call it a giant prison?
3.) Why certain clans are labelled as the sinners descendants?
4.) Why some clans like the Wangs and Jins sit higher than the rest?
5.) What actually happened in the past? Was the Sin Clan really traitors or victims of betrayal like the Guardian Clan?
6.) Why did the foreign clans attack SH’s world when they were already clearly the hegemony of the universe while 9H10E was just a destitute broken world?
7.) Why some strong powerhouse from the future would risk crossing the river of time just to contact Shi Hao? Some even wanted to kill him.
8.) What is that mysterious bronze coffin that got so many powerful cultivators killed?
9.) What is so special about the rotted wooden box that even undying kings would kill to have it?
I can go on and on.. but long story short, these are questions that would help Shi Hao (and the viewers) to navigate through this convoluted labyrinth and get to the bottom of it. And those answers are not even the most confounding ones.. just wait till the finale, I bet those who still patiently hang on will be mind-blown.

Truth me be told, I read PW after the first season aired in 2021 because of a Chinese friend of mine as I reside over there and surprising i finished the novel and the whole trilogy…
Even I got pissed or somehow confused with the whole thing but it’s as you said , the whole dot will connect little by little and the current donghua isn’t even as complicated as the novel itself due to they removed a huge chunk of conversation but it still points to the right direction, nothing is confusing at all. Like this episode they clearly remember the Convo with Jin Taijun and Qing Mu about Meng Tianzheng when he was fighting but even with that, the story still flowed smoothly and is leading to the right direction, they truly can’t put every little details from the novel to the show but I’m sure they can keep doing better

One chapter, MTZ clearly suppressed and confined all those sheep-cloaked wolves, the next few chapters, they were all out and running around as if nothing happened.
But even SH took a long time until he finally managed to purge them all. At least the part where he dropped the bombshell on all those traitorous families was so damn satisfying. These face-slapping scenes always managed to calm my searing nerves. Now, I can only wait for the donghua to live up to the novel.😉
