Oh.. just saw the poster and a short trailer for the new movie. Damn.. it’s gonna be so lit! The movie focuses on the previous great war (if I’m reading it right) where Shi Hao uses his transformation of all ages ability to travel back in time to fight alongside Willow Deity. Of course, this is non-canon. But at least from the synopsis, it already sounds so much better than the romance-fluff movie they gave us last year.
No doubt the special is indeed going to be epic, I mean they never disappoint with their specials so just buckle up 😉 ..I don’t think it will top Shi hao nirvana special but emotion wise it definitely will ..

They actually trim a lot from this arc. But I guess, they’d rather focus their attention on the special episode than to waste time animating every single scene that happened in the novel.
One major difference is the chronology of events: Shi Hao didn’t manage to tally all his killcount yet and the Wang + Jins pricks already approach him for a fight. They wanted to stop him from showing his final result because they’re afraid it’s gonna be shocking, so they went to taunt him, hoping to teach him a lesson by sending some self-release realm lackeys. Of course, they always underestimate our boi.
The author instead push the killcount reveal to the next chapter where they traded him for 500 years of peace. This is a request from SH just before he has to leave. He asks the elders to let his killcount tally to buy freedom for all the remaining members of his Shi Clan. When the final figure was revealed, everyone was shocked to the marrow. Some even started regretting why they would ever agree to give such a genius away to the enemies.
But I guess the studio does not want to distract from the main event (the sad departure of Shi Hao) in the special episode. The more I think about it, the more I can’t wait for next week tbh. The way they portray SH changes his drip to something that looks like mourning clothes already says a lot. They want to show that SH has prepared to die and never return. 😢
Yeah even the lion vs Jin Zhan happened off screen, I kinda like how this episode went, totally diff from novel but still pointing to the right direction which is the next episode…
But at least they could’ve animated the primal chaos in the Ancestral sacrificial hall and the other two who tried to belittle Shi hao with the Jim family, still it was alright to

It’s sad to reach such twist in the story where the hero who bears the karma alone, grinding in battlefield, always alone in difficult times, just like fatty’s Master divined his fate… raising the curtain of an era…one sword to sever eternity, carrying judgement on time itself. No wonder his fate is tragic to be sold to enemy by his own side… I think no other MC had to go through this kind of scam to trade for momentary peace of mere 500 years which is nothing but a blink of an eye in immoral cultivation.
Which episode was his fate divined?
It was mentioned occasionally by fatty, his master implicitly divined that someone will usher in this chaotic era, become invincible through eternity, he loves to eat and will bury Cao Yusheng. It’s not that fatty’s Master exactly knew its Huang, but fatty guessed it would definitely be him because of traits he already possessed.
That’s why my favourite among the three (SH, YF & CF) will always be Shi Hao. His life is the most tragic and everything he has, is fought with blood, grit and sheer tenacity — all by his lonesome.
