Ngl, I felt sad for character shown during Xu Qing ascended the stairs, it punctuated how harsh world truly is yet, out mc left all of them behind. It’s also irony in itself, because he got biggest plot armor, and plot cheat in the story. So, showing lives of people that entered the sect with him kinda tone deff imo, like, they are barely surviving, and living miserable just to get by (the girl has to give her body for some money, the boy slaving for a favor) yet here, our super duper cool MC (who’s totally not autistic) climbing peak by bathing in blood of his enemies, sheer will and grit, lol, or not. Like, we have to remember the fact, the process of cultivation itself is dangerous due to god’s aura mixed in spiritual energy, making it toxic, but that rule don’t apply to MC, he got a super sad story too.
I wondered what kind of side character Xu Qing would have made if he wasn’t the MC. His personality is too eccentric, so I doubt he would have many friends, nor he trusts others (not that you can trust many). I think he would have climbed pretty high up in cultivation based on his nature, but probably would’ve ended up miserable in long run and died alone either taking risk in ruin for breakthrough, or got killed by higher up or maybe became pawn in someone’s scheme.
