Despite the bleak future and the looming world destruction foretelling, it’s not all disheartening because Shi Hao is blessed with true friends. He doesn’t have many of them but each one is genuine and loyal, which unfortunately form a causal loop of loyalty. His friends put their trust in him, hence he would/could never give up on them thus making his future solo journey as a lone warrior all the more agonising.

Can’t blame him, poor boi has been getting too many grim foreshadowing. This trepidation (and maybe curiosity as well) is what fuels his drive to keep going despite the dark and treacherous future just to seize a glimmer of hope.
We never know, he might spot a hint, a different path taken, choosing person B instead of A, a clue, an afterimage, a word or sound, a feeling, a warning, an instinct or insight, anything that increases the odds of altering his destiny. Don’t forget, being stubborn, not conforming, is one of his main traits, it kept him alive and ahead of the game. The first opening song, “Stubborn Soul” 😁 matched him perfectly.
Besides, the later he leaves it, the more chances that by the time he’s finally aware of his salvation, it has already passed him by.
Yes… Stubborn Soul is one of the best songs that befits him perfectly and my fav song out of all the theme song. But apparently, Xin (the singer) will sing again for the special episode. At least from the trailer, the background song seems to be a new one and the singer sounds very much like Xin.
