No wonder there was so much mystery around the guy from the extra episodes, it was this actor guy with the double pointed spear the whole time. His foundation is to copy appearances and techniques, the only thing I can think is that back then his technique required him to steal faces to transform and when he got stronger that wasn’t needed anymore.
Maybe the third major cultivation faction know MC is related to shadowed abyss and they want to use him propagate the fiend path to them and that’s why Ge Xuan is so obsessed as well.
SO, it turned out they went with the method to make people saints that was canon to the web novel and this shows why there are so little saints, you need to remains of a dead saint to pass on sainthood to a new person and even then its only 30% guaranteed to work, this why Yuanchu is so desperate to let Ge Xuan do what he did but also HE just ate those two saints to fully become a Fiend Lord, so its just the same as other saints and Jinyu’s body refinement sainthood. There has to have been a method to reach sainthood that someone could reach on their own before other humanity would have died out years ago.
It seems what Meng Chuan is going through might lead to the “proper” way for someone to reach sainthood on their own with no external factor and… I JUST TOUGHT OF THIS! maybe the grand master didn’t actually tell anybody directly how to reach sainthood internally and was waiting for someone to play the game or think outside the box to look for the real method ensuring the person who finds it is not someone who would have just gone along with whatever method people come up with in his absence
I just want to say that this episode was fucking lit. The people in charge of the music, animation, direction and fights definitely deserve a raise
Of recent years aside from the skill styling being gorgeous and unie in that paint style for foundation/saint level skills. No one can argue that this series has the best Sound Design of any series
So far the conflict is still revolving within human clan, even though the real enemy is demon clan, or maybe the antagonists here is demon clan infiltrator?
