Just to get the feeling of it. Also, the hype and goosebumps it’s going to give us. 💪 💪 💪 I’m definitely going to prepare some snacks while watching this one, bro.
All I’m saying is holy shit this episode was peak!!! Our boi went through so much in the span of 30 minutes, experiencing different kinds of suffering and not only that, but also getting a first-hand glimpse of the past events that happened in the old era. Of course, their battle was definitely out of this world as well, sheesh!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥
Ohhh yeah, we can’t forget about that rage moment at the end with the Heavenly Horned Ant, he really was pissed when he thought Shi Hao died. 🤣 🤣 🤣 Even I question at the end if it was real or just part of some trial and an illusion, since they came out unscathed, it’s like they were in a dreamlike state. But at least I’m glad he finally got the Immortal Scripture, even if it’s not complete atm. The changes in his outfit were also fire, it became red because of his blood. Damn.. I don’t recall the last time I saw a PW episode that is so packed with emotions. I don’t know… I find the scene where Shi Hao saw a flashback of the last battle, so damn emotional. As soon as the BGM started playing and the first person hit the drum followed by endless others, I thought wow… this is what PW needs, not just awesome fights.
Critics often criticized PW to be CGI-heavy but lacking in narratives and emotions but they should all watch this episode before they open their mouths again.

Such heavyweight depressing emotionally mature duel can only be experienced with PW. This is what Path of Emperor, journey of endless desolations, and bearing the great cause and effect looks like. No matter how much cheat items u got, or what fancy skill or bloodline you have, when it comes to selfless sacrifice only courage and determination can run your flesh and blood.
Even though you know path ahead is dead end, you still move forward without hesitation, this is what we look up to…

Even though many things are incomplete in PW, sometimes its better to be that way, those who feel the emotional burden would surely understand why things are so chaotic in this donghua.

That’s what I always said, PW is actually very deep and profound. Shi Hao realises that he’s just one grain of sand in the great desert compared to the enemies and the threat that lies ahead. With every fight, he’s forging himself to be the mountain that will stand tall and defy everything.
PW is an acquired taste, it requires patience before it can be appreciated and loved. Though many people have defended PW, saying that it’s the studio’s fault that made the donghua so confusing, which I too have done on many occasions.
But to be honest, the story (the novel) is really like that. It’s action-heavy and there’s a fight in almost every chapter. I believe this is exactly what the author is trying to imply. Behind every battle, is a warrior like Shi Hao who would die to carve out a perfect world for others.
Yours explanation is absolute. This time pw team really made a move that turned our emotions upside down with this suppressed mature duel. There is simply pure emotional content, even the enemy is portrayed so well, that Shi Hao appears somewhat helpless against Mount Tai.
He knew if there is a slight chance of getting that Imperishable Scripture, it would be a goddamn bloody brutal confrontation that would decide the fate of 2 realms, even the river of time would change because of the outcome. Countless Past, present and future possibilities would go into chaos. There is no room for negotiation, a battle to death it is.
There is no doubt how deep and profound the story is regardless of progression of the 3D portrayal.

Yes, the Studio definitely deserves more credit and recognition for this special episode. It’s as good as Ep109 in terms of feels and profundity because both are life-changing battles. It’s not like the meaningless Shi Brothers vs Ning Chuan battle which the Studio made up all kinds of unnecessary content and drama.
You know what? I was particularly impressed with the drum scene not just because it hits right in your heart and then tugs at your heartstrings instead of letting you go. This scene if I’m not mistaken was not even mentioned in the novel. Chen Dong only wrote the heroic spirits crying tears of blood seeing Shi Hao dying but now with SH seeing how they died, the story and emotional progression is complete.
I can’t praise the studio enough for this episode and I wish more people would give PW a second chance and a wee bit more patience.

I’ve watched this episode twice and here’s my summarized impression on it, tell me if I got anything wrong in your opinion:
Everything here is so epic and heart wrenching. But, for some reason, I felt during the process of the fight, Shi Hao got nerfed a bit.. I didn’t remember his right hand getting cut off in the novel. They only mention that He Wushuang’s golden hair is winding around Shi Hao’s arm. Only nearing the final clash their bodies are torn apart and they need immortal medicines or miracle pills to revive themselves. And yea btw in novel his hair is golden, not silver. Finally, I also don’t remember He Wushuang having wings like chicken. Ok I’m kidding for the last part being chicken but true I don’t remember him having wings.
The studio didn’t let Shi Hao display his three dao flowers and three methods. First method is “Golden Vortex Ripple Technique” (the partial technique of Peng lineage that let him devour other people attack and wash out anything that is harmful, in donghua they made it tornado, not vortex ripples around the body), “Impervious to All Methods” of single heavenly passage and turning himself into a blade core (method of spiritual transformation realm from true primordial record) when his single heavenly passage couldn’t be fully enlarged.
Also, during the after credit scene, they didn’t explain why Imperishable (Indestructible) Peak (Bu Mie Feng) can’t be destroyed as according to ch. 1312. Btw, they call it Eternal Peak in the subs here.. This is bcs the peak contains the essence of imperishable and the second half of the scripture is inside the forbidden region. In other words, only after obtaining the second part of Imperishable Scripture and mastering it, the scripture will truly vanish from the peak. Also, I’m not sure if they actually discuss the questions regarding reincarnation experience here..
That too! Yesss more bloody and more in line with the novel this time. And yes, I also think they nerfed SH quite a bit. But then again, it’s better than the typical one-sided battle that hardly raises a sweat.
I don’t remember the giant sword from He Wushuang, did he really have such crazy weapon? I only remember the stand-off between the immortal smelting pot and the sword core. I mean, the Sword Core should have been able to smash it into dust effortlessly. But in this episode, its power seems a bit exaggerated that it can strike SH into the rocks just like that. I mean his body is so strong after the Body as Seed, it can’t be that he’s beaten into a pulp so easily.
Reading your review, damn.. what can I say? You’re always so thorough. I could hardly remember half of what you mentioned there. As for Shi Hao’s hair colour, I’m glad they at least revert back to brown/black from the previous post-nirvana white hair. That strand of white fringe is fine by me. It kinda gives him a mystifying air, like those cultivators (in most cultivation novels) who had once suffered from a Qi-deviation.
As for my ranking, I’d rate this episode second, just after Ep109 (the battle of the seven gods). The two Shi brothers battle is now being relegated to the fourth position for me. My third would be the final battle of the geniuses in Immortal Ancient. SH was frigging invincible and what’s more it also contained some SH’s dry humour where his devil’s may care attitude meets the funny retort from Exiled Immortal and Ten-Crowned King. That final chaotic battle is not as heavy as the first two life-and-death battles and a bit of humour always works for me.
But after watching this special episode, I think the profound narrative as well as the deep emotional moments in this episode is truly touching and impactful.

Lastly, I find the new OST catchy and empowering at the same time. Not sure if it’s sung by Xin (The Stuborn Soul singer) this time. Some parts sound like him actually. What do you think of it?
I remember that “immortal execution” from he wushuang’s eyes will form four sword cores to attack Huang for sure.. It is in chapter 1306. But before that..
In any case, I’m pretty sure the studio nerfed Huang a bit for the excitement of struggle.. So I think it’s not some crazy weapon but some great sword art of foreign realm.

THIS FIGHTING SCENE IS INCREDIBLY AMAZING BRO AND ALSO THE STORY 100/10 FOR ME .
And this goes to my top 3 battles of PW. The first battle that made me shed tears was Shi hao’s battle vs Shi Yi. The second was when shi hao was still in the mortal realm fighting the so called seven gods. This battle had the emotions you experienced while watching the other two battles. Shi hao’s will is beyond what anyone can achieve. Like imagine your self being Shi hao and since birth countless strong beings have just been telling you that in this era you’ll be the only survivor while everyone else perishes. But despite all that he never loses his dao heart and his will to protect the world grows even stronger. Shi hao was born to be the “child of destiny” of this era. His fate was tied before he even came to this world. But we know our boy doesn’t let fate or destiny control him😝. From the moment he rebuilt his supreme bone from nothing and his foundation even became stronger I knew he was destined for greatness and we’ve seen him doing the impossible every now and then. From defying heavens, treading on paths that were deemed impossible, surpassing geniuses who have cultivated for tens of thousands of years…etc. Like imagine being born in the most chaotic era where there is foreign invasions every now and then, collapsed heavenly laws, the geniuses of this era are just like frogs in a river compared to the foreign enemies and even after seeing all this his dao heart remains firm and he never gives up or show any sort of weakness. We’ve seen other MC’s like long haochen being heavens favorite but Shi hao is the embodiment of “heaven’s blessing” and “heaven’s cruelty” at the same time. But we know both luck and misfortunes are what push our boy forward. **Bro, if I could transmigrate in a cultivation world without a system I just know I’ll walk the demonic path😭. I don’t have the will to cultivate for tens of thousand of years just to be a “frog in a well”, while I can still be a “frog in a well” after treading the demonic path and archiving what I could archive in those tens of thousand years with less than even 500 years😭( I know my lifespan declines though✌️)You can’t hate but just have to respect and admire our boy HUANG man. (LOL ,sorry for the long ass paragraph guys. I couldn’t help myself after watching this battle)😭

We are really blessed this had a great lawyers setting up the contract between writer and series creators. It’s gotta be iron clad tight. Protecting his original content from being twisted, perverted or changed. From Episode 1 you could tell PW has a lot of soul injected into every episode. We get see so much in this PW other shows don’t or have since taken removed. Like BTTH.
There’s a flashback to Shi Hao as a small child during an episode. He’s talking to Willow Tree Goddess, pouring milk on to her big roots. And saying “This is my favorite milk, to help you grow back strong.” Or something to the effect. Its was heart wrenching, sweet and cute all rolled up in to one scene. And the times he would ask about his parent to her. she’d be stumped on what to say. It’s no wonder she is so protective of him.
The way Willow Tree groomed Shi Hai is truly profound, overall journey thorugh life and death is quite emotional one. It is reflected through behaviour, traits and accountability.
