It seems there still might be something there but they might have changed it to a point its just a friendship or what not. Will be giving this so far garbage ark a few more ep till XY and Medusa have to part ways for a while if there’s no progress on the romance part will be doping this show and just go read the whole ark from the OG Dongua instead and finish the series reading it pretending this adaptation doesn’t exist. We’ll have to see how it plays out.

For some time now, most of the side characters, and now the main character as well, have been behaving like NPCs with no personality. There’s no logic in the story. Xiao Yan, being Peak Dou Zun with the help of Clan Tattoo, can’t last five seconds.
Medusa and Xiao Yi Xian fight for several minutes without a problem. I haven’t read the book, so I don’t know, but Angry Buddha Lotus is a terribly weak technique, you have to stand still for several minutes to use it.
If it weren’t for the plot armor, Xiao Yan would never have been able to use it because no one would let him “charge it.”

Well I don’t know why but the anime has somehow forgotten to mention the 9 changes to saint hood realm.
Its a very big realm that one has to cross to become a Ban Sheng. That realm takes 9 times the amount of time it took you to reach the 9 star Dou Zun realm.
Why? Because you have to compress your Life Qi (not the one they use daily but their foundation itself) completely. And that’s how they get 1 change. Do that 9 times and its called 9 change.
Essentially after the 9 star dou zun, there is still 9 realms to cross before ban sheng. IIRC the clan tatto generally pushes their strength by 1-2 sainthood changes. But not more.
