It’s almost as if Xiao Yan has a better relationship with almost every other lady apart from Xun’er. It always feels odd with her. Partly, because we didn’t see their relationship develop. She was barely shown at the beginning of the story, and at that time romance wasn’t the focus, then she left for her clan and suddenly Xiao Yan loves her like crazy.
Wish they would have stayed siblings/relatives. That way, the story wouldn’t have changed too much just to accomodate one character. Xiao Yan can’t even acknowledge his daughter or ask about her.
