Yeah, its because A’Liang stop him, remember as kind and nice and kinda naive as Ping’An is he has no qualms about killing someone who really has it out for him. If you really do something to wrong him, he’ll come for you, like when he was a kid and came really close to kill Song Mu or when he killed that girl for destroying his bridge of longevity when he was being controlled to act out of character or the other guy that Qi Jingchun stopped him from killing
Showing mercy to an opponent of chance is different than showing mercy to a selfish, treacherous, back-stabbing manipulator. Not all mercies are equal, and some makes sense, but this does not.
Tbh, that slap I wasn’t satisfied with that one but of course, at the end of the day the decision was for Chen Ping’an to make. 😤😤😤

This is one of the best Donghua epsiodes of ANY story I’ve seen. There was another great episode from “The Demon Hunter” (episode 47) which was outstanding as well. No dialog throughout that episode for the first 10 minutes, which was amazing.
So what was the plan? Piss off this dude, who’s clearly already strong enough to ascend to the immortal realm, so he can destroy the one trumpcard the Li Kingdom has and kill everyone in it?

Have you watched “The Demon Hunter”? He doesn’t start out super strong, but he’s certainly not weak at the beginning, but towards the end of that series the MC is amazing.
Living up to my expectations for what I had imagined while reading. A’ Liang so fits the bill and the children are just as sweet on screen. Bittersweet moment but once you hit a level as such as AL is at you can no longer live in the mortal world and must move on. But no one says that you cannot collect an ounce of flesh before then. A little vengeance is food for the soul.
