But perhaps it also shows the Holy Sect’s Ancestor’s general guidance given both QM & IT were somewhat his protege one way or another
And it’s kinda funny how badly of a secret QM’s sect leader status is revealed to Yankang top elites in just a few episodes, given how the Holy Sect’s supposedly a lot more clandestine than that and is somewhat oppositional to Yankang’s premise

Well there’s one more layer above the puppet master – being righteous, idealist and a carefree pursuer of the dao and the crafts. This layer can’t be picked up by commoners at all. I think only the imperial preceptor and the (late) grandmaster of the Heavenly Saint Sect could see through this layer.
