I cried so much in this chapter but I want to believe that Shen Qingzhu is NOT dead. This must be some sick joke. That Baili family’s heirloom must have done something to save his life. Please God. I am too scared to read the novel to confirm this. That instructor Hong is the second biggest fool in this season so far, with the first being Li Jia who died because of a lack of self awareness and survival skills. That instructor saw his two students, one exhausted and unconscious and the other barely holding on, tethering on a flying sword that is practically out of juice but he instead of taking them swiftly out of the cave, he chose to start chatting them up to ask stupid questions. As if that wasn’t enough, he left them and just kept flying out of the cave ahead of them, wasting so much time that that bastard had enough time to lay an ambush. I’m so bitter.
Why are they dragging this out? It should have ended in the last episode.
They really took what feels like an okay source material and made it peak with the animation, music and direction, because what even is this writing? Every time someone “dies,” it just feels like it’s being used to push the plot forward. Qingzhu better survive because of that jade pendant or Lin Qiye’s mental space.

The trademark of a good story is that it gets the audience emotionally invested. His sacrifice meant something. The build up to that point meant something. And the pay off was splendidly done.
It’s fine to be mad at the fact he died, but you guys are delusional or low IQ for calling out the writers. Go watch BttH or something if good story telling isn’t your cup of tea.
