After a long break, it’s a great feeling to see comments from familiar names! Yes, this episode is rather light but I’m loving it too. It’s really a pity that this partnership with Wang Xi won’t last long. I actually quite like her when she first appeared in the novel because she’s very protective of SH. Of course, that was because she thought SH only has two strands of divine flames and it’s only natural she as the stronger party protects her weaker Dao friend, not knowing that he’s badass powerful. Unfortunately, all this good feelings will disappear soon. With the current pace, I’m guessing at most another 4 episodes, all the good impressions the current viewers have on the Wang family will disappear.

As for SH’s face, yeah there’s literally zero change except maybe his expression does look a bit more mature now. I’m actually loving the new looks and wish that this looks is his real permanent one. Don’t know how to describe it, the current looks really hit the ceiling and could go no higher. But the studio could have designed some kind of misty shroud to envelop him if they don’t want to change the appearance to differentiate him from his disguise. I remember he was actually covered in some golden runes when he first rushed over to help the 3000 provinces cultivators to fight as they were clearly the weaker ones. But I’ll let this pass since I’m really enjoying this charismatic visual.
What I find absurd is the fact that they upgraded the lightning emperor armour again. I mean that’s the actual charm and humour of it with SH being badass powerful and he donning an old, rusty and tattered armour is such a contrast. Imagine the irony and the face-slapping moment when he puts everyone down after being looked down upon and laughed at. Well, the consolation is that the new scriptwriter did put in effort to shape Shi hao’s personality. I’m really loving his shameless sigma retorts!
That’s how my boi is supposed to be — the outrageously shameless maverick who doesn’t give a damn about how others see him. His personality is the very reason why Shi Hao remains my favourite MC of all time compared to the Gary-Stu MCs out there. **Though I have to admit, there’re more and more writers nowadays who go against convention and try not to shape their MC into an overly perfect character who could do no wrong**. But that still does not detract the fact that SH is one hellavu charming character that stands out from the rest.
