yanran still have development potential but the author ignored that chances. she should have gu xun’s appearances time and have redemption segment such as sacrifice her life/temporary cannot cultivate because she helped xiao yan at critical moment instead of xiao yan overpowered action and gu xun become MC mom everydamn time

Not just that. Keep using re-used (repetitive) models, bad background details/settings (e.g: Falling Star Pavilion, Wind Lightning Pavilion, Ancient Ruins, Gu Clan, etc.), new models of Xiao Yi Xian, Yun Yun and Medusa are worse, lazy to make scenes with crowds (big cities, wars, etc.)
Also old guys look like young guys (Yao Lao, Feng Zun Zhe, Xuan Kongzi, etc.) look bad and confusing. Not to mention the Xiao Xiao story mesh up.
They just keep focusing on changing the songs, but forget the most important parts of a movie/animation/drama series, which is the content itself.

Yun Yun fell way below them in strength. It seems she was only strong when it was to kidnap a young Xiao Yan and Xun’er into that cave long ago. Since then she’s been only a burden. Medusa and Xun’er are much more assertive. Good to see her finally get tough and kick that creep in the nut.

Needless to say none of the two are my favourite people here – sorry Yun Yun fans; but how people present themselves first is a huge sign of character for me 😅 the way they introduced themselves in this story was too arrogant, XY owes nothing to either of them.

I know it doesn’t matter, but you would think seasoned cultivators wouldn’t casually fly into and breath unknown poisons, gases, miasma, or in this case tiny insects. You would think they would avoid such areas, or if that is not possible, they would investigate and experiment (like they did) before entering and getting infected with who knows what. For all they knew, that miasma could have instantly killed them after a very specific threshold was reached, or after a time limit.
The writers add parts like this to flesh out the world, which is appreciated, but they need to remember that people living in such a world wouldn’t be so careless and ignorant, at least not people who achieve those heights of cultivation. They are essentially superhumans, with many having hundreds of years of experience under their belt (like that one dead guy they passed while going the through the miasma, he was probably hundreds of years old.) It pulls you out of the world building when you are like “Oh, these guys are absolute morons that can only survive because of plot armor, that’s nice I guess.”
