RMJI latest episodes will receive a complete remake.
Record of Mortal journey to Immortality latest released Episodes which is 177 and 178 will receive a total remake. The remake episodes are expected to be released before episode 179. This is due to criticism of quality decline and plot changes from novel which made characters action unrealistic, along with multiple inconsistency in power level and other characters reaction to Han li as a nascent soul cultivator.

I was just browsing r/donghua and saw that. Yeah after the hype died down, I didn’t even notice at first that episode 177 was different from the novel, and wasn’t what fans expected.
Han Li’s reunion with the yellow valley old friends weren’t as emotional or impactful. Some characters who are supposed to be dead are somehow alive on the episode. Epiosde 177and 178 is getting a new modified remake version. The studio listened to the audience feedback about how the return episode after a 6 month break felt so underwhelming, especially Han Li’s runion with the Yellow Maple Valley old friends, so Original Force Animation and the director immediately after posted an announcement that they were planning to release this version 2 of Ep 177 and 178 with added content.
Also some changes of this episode from the novel, Han Li was supposed to save the little girl when he was a foundation establishment, not Hong Fu or Wei Niang. Hong Fu status was unknown , she was supposed to be missing at this episode.
Senior brother song was supposed to be dead from failing to form his Core formation in the novel. Also , Wei Niang died from old age too. 🤔 🤔

I imagine that the studio and the director are going to use the feedback from the fans to improve the scripts of the 2 episodes and maybe align them with what was done in the novel with some few changes i suppose, otherwise they won’t be able to put very dialogue in the episodes.

Also I saw the director getting a lot of backlash with haters saying the studio changed to “all female staff”, hence the issue with the episodes.

In ep. 177 Han Li supposedly met Xiao Cui’er the little girl he saved when he is a Foundation Establishment stage, and some other disciples from other sects like the Moon Maske Sect where Han Li learned about the arranged marriage of Nangong Wan. . . And also he learned that all his brothers and sisters in Yellow Maple Valley are already dead due to old age and failed core formation attempt. . .
The studio wants nostalgia and drama unfortunately it wasn’t aligned to the audience impact. . .
the change in the story was not bad, it was actually not impactful as in the novel. changes must be better than the novel itself only then fans won’t have any issues…

For STH, I heard they also changed some stuff from the novel and deleted some scenes. (Like Ye fan and An Miaoyi lovey-dovey scene) But I heard RMJI most staff come from Wonder Cat, while STH although also Original Force, its a different team adapting it.
