To make a comparison, you should imagine Xiao Yan who in the first season finds himself facing enemies who are at level dou zong/zun, we both agree that he wouldn’t last a second. In my opinion, this is also the beauty of Jian Lai, here the plot armor is very low. If there are extremely strong enemies in the “world,” why shouldn’t the protagonist be unlucky enough to encounter them right at the beginning? In BTTH, Xiao Yan always faces enemies who are at his level or almost, all of them are dou zong, then all of them are dou zun, then all of them are bang sheng and so on. This is all absurd, especially because the Hall of Souls could have finished him off when he hadn’t even reached dou zong yet.
So you should wait for the third season, as for the adult protagonist that we see in the first episode of the first season I think we should wait at least for the seventh season.

If you are looking for the usual trope filled series with the MC levelling up every second episode, this is not the series for you. The novel is still unfinished with 1 chapter a day being released. This is a world building series that is slow paced and based on a realist view. CPA will grow but at a pace that shows the difficulties involved and the massive amounts of hard work to goes into it. A reminder that that the Mountain Ape and that horrible woman in the first episode broke his bridge. Cultivating will be extra long and hard for our boy since he will have to try and rebuild the bridge if possible.
No im not.. my fav donghua is Fanren which is quite slow progress as well just this one doesnt have that vibe.. unlike Han Li who achieved most on his own this guy is getting baby sitted for everything and this is something i dont like not the slow progress itself.
CPA and Han Li’s situation are completely different. Han Li did not have to fight against fate and people from higher realms who are constantly trying to bring him down. Not to mention Han Li keeps living due to plot armor.
