Ok so far it’s established that SP & Yankang Emperor’s revolution is about creating accessible systems for people of the land the opportunity to learn and advance, which is usually segregated and gatekept by elites of various sects
But I think we’ve gone deep enough in the story to warrant the question why then the sects & their members need to die/be eliminated too? This seems like one of the biggest difference between Yankang which prefers direct subjugation & confrontation, compared with the Holy Demon Sect, which is an amalgam of various schools and works behind the shadows to position themselves to significant advantage
Like, the development and reveal is only halfway so far in establishing Yankang as initially a major antagonist faction into one that’s morally justified/good, and its been too long it’s getting confusing
Did they ever explained why they tried annexing Daxu but then just gave up? (I watched the first half of this series from a badly translated source before discovering this site lol)
I’ve heard that some of the major mysteries regarding Daxu, Yankang, and the actual gods who left will be revealed at some point (so please refrain from major spoilers in the replies), but I do think it’s getting too long at explaining the crux of this inter-factional conflict
Otherwise, the cultivation elements are still top notch, it’s just the “politics” that confuses me

Holy Demon Sect is more powerful than the YanKang empire, but they sort of regressed with time. That’s why the founder had to look ahead for evolving methods. The founder realised that he needed someone like SP to help the HDS to evolve and grow bck stronger than before. (Remember the founder telling the MC that “HDS is also an empire/country?”).
That’s why he identified and chose to teach SP all that he knows in governing and making reforms. He instructed the purple girl and MC to join YanKang empire’s T-academy to learn and be modern.
So basically what is happening now is that MC is using YanKang empire and SP to implement the vision of the HDS for its growth. Once (episodes back) he discussed the vission with the founder and MC said that the HDS only need to align with the YanKang empire for the next 200 years and if SP tried to go against the vision, the HDS will just kill him and take over the empire as the ultimate superpower.
So currently HDS and the YK empire are sort of allies, and the HDS acts as the secret sharp blade of the empire.
This will shock the other sects in the next episode, as they have believed that the HDS died and can’t come back, that’s why they never bothered with them.
