After lou Feng entered Star Tower, he was attacked by several methods ,even by supreme treasure and supreme sealing treasure all failed. Then people asked the Divine eye true god for treasure which he provided after negotiating some treasures as collateral. Ice cliff Castle was an absolute treasure used by the east emperor sacred land guy which also failed.
After 500 years Lou Feng solved 1000 Games.

I get he is tempering LF, but does he have to do it by constantly throwing him under the bus.
He saved him from small fire in previous trial and threw him in a bigger fire in this one.
In the very first trial he was able to see all the secrets of Lou Feng and probably knew he had strong treasures to survive until he receives protection.
You have to think about the future effects of things. If he cannot hold his own now, he probably won’t live to escape with the inheritance. Also, we don’t know how difficult it will be to cultivate this inheritance.
I feel like Duan-Donghe is making sure the human (specifically Luo Feng) can survive the Era Restart they’ve all been afraid of.
