Honestly the only more interesting way would have been instead of her running away to be forcefully summoned for some other task and be super frustrated that her battle was interrupted would have been a lot more interesting for HS being an big thread instead of being noob cowards and run when ever they face someone strong. But o well thats common writing for most villains in this cultivation shows sadly can’t forget that the writing for this series is for teens equivalent to mainstream Shonens in the anime world so lame here and there is kind of expected.

I don’t read the novel, but from what i have heared, in the novel he makes that pill to seal the qi of Xiaoxiao because she was already op like we saw in the episode.
And the novel he did that because he wanted her to live a normal life from what i understood.
So in the donghua they can say something like she is ” mute ” because of the qi she has, so he will make the pill and she will be able to speak.

Because there was nothing to feel. Xiao Yan was holding back for no reason, big bad guy got beat up sure, but only for a bigger badder guy to show up for the 1000th time (seriously it happened twice just in these last 2 episodes), it’s become a tiresome and predictable slog. Noting new or interesting is happening, just lots of regurgitated, empty, pointless fights with maybe half a minute of story or meaningful character interactions sprinkled on top.

I tried to compare (the latest episode of BTTH vs Shrouding the Heaven), which one is more dramatical (and looks more real) when MC kills his enemy, I found Shrouding the Heavens is way much better than BTTH.
It is much better but I usually only compare author works with their others. I would say The Great Ruler and Martial Universe are better than BTTH donghua. Great Ruler MC is this authors peak work. Xiao Yan has so many helpers and plot armor. lol
Somewhat agree, but I think that’s OK to compare how studios execute the animation version of the novels. I’m not comparing characters here, but how well, how dramatic and how real (looks like real) studios can execute killing (and fighting) events in their animated series.
Another factors into consideration are: Romances (Love Scenes), Background Details (how details the backgrounds are), Sound Effects, Graphic Quality, Fight Choreography, Lip Sync, etc.
I forgot to mention one more important factor when assessing animation movies, that is Scene (or arcs) Flow. Actually this factor affects all kind of movies (animation and live action). Good scene flow will make people unconsciously watching with full desire, as if they were hypnotized by the movie/series.
There’s no buildup for the moves, they just appear, it’s so lazy. I really want to like this but I’d gone from a 9 to 7.5 IMO. No dialogue for his daughter, no relationships, it’s just empty fights that’s being half-arsed.
It would be so much more impactful and emotion episodes if they just embraced their actual relationships.

And yeah its rushed , the battle with 4th sky master. In the novel it was much longer, more build-up and more detailed.

Thats what I’m mostly looking forward to see how it plays out most important Xiao Xiao is kept as a character and the foreshadowing of her power is clear in the past 2 ep no all we need is the talk with the Queen and we’re good. To be fair as they are adapting the other series that are tied to this one and are well sequel material its kind of stupid to change core character plots to this extent and have to change stuff there as well as a result but who knows well just have to wait and see how it fully unfolds for now I’m just happy for the reunion and cant wait to see next ep how it all unfolds.
Also nice bonus seeing the little snake again missed that little one so cute didn’t expect it to return after well its full fusion with the Queen.
