The only issue I had with the face is that they had no business changing the original face. But unless they change it back to how it was at the start, there really is no need to change it yet again. This is just a smaller Jia Ma kingdom area (Northwest of the continent) and the bigger area of the continent, named Central Plains.

Agree. There is no element of surprise here, but a lot of elements of odd. Such as: Dou Zun becomes so weak, Dou Zong looks very powerful, Star Wars background style in ancient Chinese cultures, Medusa suddenly has a daughter, old guys in young guy looks, sudden increase of cultivation level for Medusa and Hai Bodong, etc. etc.
I mean, there’s no element of surprise in 99% of shows, anime or donghua – they aren’t going to kill off the MC of his main sides the vast majority of time, though it DOES happen on VERY rare occasions!

All cool but this arc makes no sense. Why are these people attacking a nub empire that barely had any resources to get to dou zong, and why are dou zun so weak all of a sudden. All just to make a scenario where, once again, Xiao Yan arrives at the last moment to save them and look cool. Stupid plot with “cool action scenes” and no substance or coherence.

This is basically a personal vendetta between Xiao Yan and that lady from Soul Hall, NOT part of Soul Hall’s actual plan, so that’s why there aren’t stronger Soul Hall people there. If Soul Hall’s higher-ups were involved, there would be a LOT more high-ranking Soul-Hall people involved.

That’s where the odd is. Since the 9th Tian Zun (I believe she’s somewhere in 6-7 star Dou Zun) is the only one from Hall of Souls (although later on there is 4th Tian Zun comes in, but for now even herself doesn’t realize yet), then the combination of Tian Huo, Xiao Yi Xian and Qing Lin (all are 6 star Dou Zun) should be enough to kill that 9th Tian Zun lady (which was supposed to be old grandpa not a lady though). Killing all the peons from that unknown Lion Star sect should be even much easier. How come they lose?

Okay it looks good. Clean look, new feel, we finally see Medusa and Xiao Xiao (though I’m sorry we missed out on her beginnings and she’s already a little girl).
It seems the fan base twisted the studio’s arm as I saw Yun Yun in the opening too; I’m not a great fan of hers but it’s good seeing the anti harem nazis bow down to integrity. Let’s see if these aren’t some quick appearances just to shut us up. We’ll be watching so, rabidly feminists behave! 🫵🏻🧿😁

About Hai Bodong, although he looks more cool, for the sake of being logic (make more sense), all old guys (Hai Bodong, Yao Lao after being reincarnated, Feng Zun Zhe, Yun Shan, etc.) should be better in old look models. Making them look young will only make people more confused.

also – weird to see Hai Bodong without grey/silver hair! Even after dude had his youth returned, he still had grey hair; personally I don’t remember what color hair he had when he was rescuing Medusa’s sister in the prequel.
