Is poison girl not 6 star dou zun, why is she struggling with a low level dou zuns? Bad writing and episode felt rushed, and they should have introduced Xiao Xiao 3 episodes ago, if I didn’t read spoilers I wouldn’t understand why poison girl is protecting her. BTTH has all the ingredients of a great donghua, but bad writing and rushing the episodes is ruining the experience.
Somehow, a 1 star dou zong is able to fight dou zuns, but poison girl can’t. Bad writing.

Well well, its because those hammer guys r dou zun as well. Plus they r not one or two, multiple dou zuns against one dou zun. They have hall of souls, lion sect own dou zuns. Plus Xiao Xi Jiang aka little fairy docter aka poison girl cannot use her poisen domain and critical skills, as she has to be mindful of xiao xiao, inside posion domain Xiao Xi will hurt xiao xiao. Also yan alliance dont have any other duo zun except medusa, little fairy docter, that drunkyard uncle (lol) and Qing lin with her puppet duo zuns. I have read da novel, am stating that story. Animation of twenty minutes cannot show evrythng, it will be so boring, believe me.
nonehteless this episode was top notch. I got goosebumps multiple times, damnnn.

On a more serious note, holy cow this show is starting to have the most egregious power level inconsistency I’ve seen in a Donghua.
Everyone talking about why Xiao Yi Xian and Qing Lin was struggling. You know her powers, it’s not easy to use poison when your average allies are all around you and a child in your arms. Qing Lin may be strong but she is very inexperienced when it comes to fighting. Being strong does not make one a good fighter. Look at Hai Bodong, he may be a Dou Zong but he has very good instincts, fighting intuitives and battle sense.

S5 ep. 40 or 41, XY and Medusa at the Fallen Heart Flame. The studio deleted it but you might still find it on YouTube. Thankfully I watched it when it was released, b4 BTTH fell into the hands of a feminist director who felt offended at their intimacy and the fact that she’s not the “rightful” wife. That’s why Medusa and even Yun Yun disappeared until now, when falling ratings due to backlash of angry fans became impossible to ignore.

Man where to start first , I heard the old director got fired and a new one replaced her and is in change of BTTH in the studio. And looks like this new director looks as if he saved BTTH. So many old faces back from Jia Ma Empire , Ja Xintian, FaMa old family, Xiao brothers. AND MY MAN HAIBODONG, my favorite ICE EMPEROR. SO EXCITED. I just love HaiBong, I remember watching him back in season 3, the good times back in Jia Ma Empire.
And finally Medusa is back and wow she looks stunning and gorgeous as ever, queen. I would simp for Queen Cai Lin any day, I have no problems LOL. A lot of people watch BTTH because of her. And i heard alot of people were gonna drop it including me if they removed her, at least the studio and new director is listening to the fans this time and staying true to the novel and to medusa and to Xiao Xiao. MAN WHAT A HUGE REDEMPTION. I AM SOOOO GLAD AND HAPPY, AND FEELS WEIGHT LIFTED OFF MY SHOULDERS. I will say though that the only small part they skipped, was that Xiao Xiao called him “Dad” at the end, after Xiao Yan asked her “do you know who I am, little fellow?”
Man , just look at xiao xiao, the xiao clan’s little princess and the future of the xiao clan. Xiao yan has a big character development and personal growth because of her. She is also Xiao Yan’s goal of protecting the her and her future from the Hun Clan. He has motivation and emotion now. Finally there is meaning why xiao yan fights now. See studio? If you give fans what they want, they will only support you and have good things to say about you, and leave you good reviews, including me. I ALREADY RATED THIS A 5 STARS AND I SUGGEST YOU DO AS WELL.

I strongly think that new director also give us the wedding. Medusa’s Dou Sheng model is very good, changing the color palatte for her design is a very good idea.
I doubt there will be wedding though, because they are still monitored by CCP.
I love the good old days of donghuas where all the female characters were still super sexy 🤣, make it not boring to watch. Black Troops, Rise of the Dragon, BTTH season 2 are just some examples.
Yeah tour right, medusa is fully covered up now. She used to be more revealing.
But I still don’t quite like the background details. Not only it lacks of the details (mostly just blurry like paintings), but also the architecture of the buildings.
Compare that with Shrouding the Heaven, Mortal Journey, Purple River, Jade Dynasty, etc. Even their own donghua such as WDQK is much better. Or even short donghuas such as Against the Sky Supreme, Martial Master are better.
Not to mention the reused models.
Yes its still not perfect, but its atleast a step into the right direction.
