story ending next week? I dropped this long long long back when it was still in single digits. Because my friend who finished the novel told me how stupid this series is. But i liked the movie of this series. And also the animation is still good.

Its like the soul land experience. The animation is top notch, but the story is humans fighting demons (the good vs evil kind of plot ) scenario. I prefer the demon hunter better though. The romance is there but some moments here and there can be cringy and power rangers type teams. I can overlook it because the animation quality and battles make up for it.
The MC is the nicest goody-two-shoes guy you will ever meet, never has evil thoughts or motives, only selfless and cares about the greater good to protect his friends and family.
I give it a 8/10 , its not one of my top donghuas like Fanren but still good enough to binge watch .

The primary issue for me was the shifting goalposts. While Long Haochen is continuously granted new powers, the ceiling is raised so frequently that his growth feels inconsequential. When the protagonist’s evolution doesn’t allow them to actually contend with the antagonist(s), the stakes lose their impact, and the narrative becomes repetitive.

I lost interest because the power scaling felt pointless. Long Haochen gets power-up after power-up, but the enemy is always miles ahead, regardless. The details of the characters look life-like and beautiful, story and world-building is superb. Character emotions and motives are so realistic, they don’t feel like robots. Censorship is less and music is superb, battles are also well-made. It truly captures the essence of what a donghua is supposed to be, I have yet to comes across anything better than Fanren to date …

The cringy moments are there, but you forget this is literally like a Tencent style Disney show which is supposed to be catered towards kids . It will have those cringy moments, “power of friendship” troupes, and the MC’s team being like power rangers poses, and MC is too nice for his own good.

The only good thing you’ll like in TOS is that there is no unlikable character. Every villain introduced will have a certain charm to them and you’ll find it hard to hate the character man. Take Star demon god for example. I hated him at the start of the show cause of how ridiculously strong he was man. He could control or manipulate everything in this world. I had to tell myself it was just a pipe dream for the mc to destroy the demon race cause everything the MC’s team did was just according to the star demon god calculations man. But as time went I came to love his character more and more. Most of the time I was rooting for the demon race though. I loved every demon god ever showed in this show man. (Just my preference).

This was so sad. I guess I’m also bound by attachments as I was incredibly happy when Cai’er and Hao Yue broke through despite knowing they were making it more difficult for him. Thankfully they proved useful, though. I hated seeing the little guy hurt again.
