novel readers how slow is this donghua compared to A Record of Mortal’s Journey to Immortality and shrouding the heavens?
The novel is slow at first. From what I’ve seen, the first season covers about the first 80 chapters, and from what I understand, the second season will also cover about the following 80 chapters. However, I think it’s fair to say one thing: “Jian Lai” IS NOT FOR EVERYONE; it requires attention, calm, and patience. Not everything is explained at the beginning; very often, facts or issues are presented that are the consequences of what has already happened chronologically in the past and which will be explained in detail later. That said, if there are things you don’t understand, feel free to ask. I’ll try to explain as best I can without spoiling anything. If you don’t like the story, I think that’s fine. Ultimately, it’s all a matter of subjective taste, but I’d be disappointed if you didn’t like it because you didn’t understand what was happening (which is understandable, and I say this as a reader of the novel). If you’re feeling intrigued but the story isn’t gripping you right now, the best advice I can give you is to wait for SEASON THREE because season two will be a second part of what is a great premise and it is in season three that the protagonist will embark on his journey into what is called the “jianghu”.

It’s not an old episode, from my understanding, Xin started to sub the donghua when it started airing up to episode 21.
He stopped for a moment to sub the donghua for a moment because he had other things to do.
Now he is catching up on subbing the rest of the episodes.
So that way the donghua will be labeled compete, atleast for the season 1.
Season 2 and a movie have been announced. 🤷♂️
