Hes the powerhouse of the lands that the barbarians keep fighting against and try to invade, anyway he did appear briefly in a past episode , just like how our boy rememberd him from the sky eyes so did i remeber that ive seen that scene before.
Also this fight was coming for a long time ,ever since our boy was still undercover in the blood sect and theres an idiot or probably more then 1 that says crap like ”random op enemies” when they have been in the story long before this fight even started…

It’s probably the subtitles. The names were all over the place. Constantly using different terms or adjectives throughout the whole episodes. Some faces weren’t shown or shown only once or twice a long time ago. It’s no surprise that people wouldn’t notice or remember them.
I started the series by watching HoC’s subs. Came here to watch Season 3. While AnimeXin is a lot better than other places, they’re still lacking in quality control. That’s to be expected considering the amount of episodes they’re doing every day. Not using the same names or terms as HoC is fine as I could easily do a mental map myself. But not being consistent is the issue.

the yellow dude is du lingfei’s birth dad. he’s the villain of the series. at least no. 2 on the most dangerous list. i hope u don’t forget du lingfei, she’s xiao dudu or boo in some translations. the guy’s prowess is on the verge of becoming celestial. if he can unleash that power, he can destroy the world. the world where bai lives is actually some kind of cage. the cage formed by the corpse of a mighty being.
i told u before about ghostmother. this spirit who inhabited gongsun wan’er is the clone of her. her original is at least beyond celestial in cultivation.

fourth step: eternal (equivalent to heaven trampling in wang lin’s story)

what upper realm. it’s heavenspan realm. basically the place her dad owned. haha~
yeah, she’s the one who went out with him on his first mission and the one where he basically said “Screw it – what’s the point in living forever if the people I care about all die?” and he threw caution to the wind and started to become a badass.
She then disappeared from the Spirit Stream Sect and he ran into her again in the trials for the Middle Peak Blood MAster competition at the Blood Sect – she was the one wearing a veil over her lower face and one of the contenders to become a Blood Master.
Then she disappeared again, and he asked that other chick to help find her as his price for bringing her to the upper realm with him, and everyone who was looking for Du Lingfei died instantly and the lady told him to ask for some other information as finding Du Lingfei was impossible.
Last we saw her, she was in the “upper upper realm” and sent him a talisman or badge or something to help him out of whatever bind he had gotten himself into at that point in time – I think it was when he was selling pills and someone slipped fake pills in with his to hurt people and he got blacklisted in the “lower upper realm” (too many realms to keep straight!).
The cultivation is same as Renegade Immortal, right?
Deva = Deity Transformation?
Demigod = Soul Transformation ?
Celestial = Ascendant?
Kinda like that RI is fast paced, Wang Lin is already a demigod in 100 episodes, meanwhile Lord Bai takes double the episode to break through to Nascent Soul stage. If there were already 1000 episodes, I wouldn’t mind that though.
i think we can’t equate them easily. the realm in renegade immortal is a lot more than a will eternal.
celestial is 2nd step in a will eternal, ascendant is still 1st step peak in RI.
they even have transition level in renegade immortal. so you can’t equate them like that. the easiest way to make sense of this is the step separations. first step, second step, third step and fourth step. that’s the system made by author. the realms are different but the steps are the same. Basically, climbing up in AWE realms is much more difficult than that of RI cuz of slightly different cultivation system.
There’s also Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality where the dude barely reached nascent soul after 182 episodes (though I guess technically he reached it in Ep 156 – but he hasn’t passed the Early Layer yet in 26 episodes, let alone gotten into Middle Late, or Peak Nascent Soul stages which are all needed prior to Deity Transformation)
At least it’s not as slow as most of those 5 minute shows like Against The Sky Supreme, Martial Master, and Supreme God Emperor – those shows take forEVER!

I honestly regret not finding a proper subtitle source sooner, because around mid way (after the 4 initial sect formed an alliance) the source I used just constantly diarrhead itself with word vomit
So I kinda miss the point of the significant chunk of this story
All I understood was that the sect alliance was defying the upper tiers to gain more cultivation resources, then reached a point where they could send delegations including Xiaochun to the rainbow realm or whatever it was called
Then somehow cultivating there led to whatever conflict between the wild lands for whatever reason that only made sense in this episode now
All in all I can say this episode is quite an amazing feat of writing and animation, because despite my previous diarrhea subtitle experience, I still understood the overarching conflict now from this episode (although seriously the setup was so long ago that I’m impressed I even remember) on top of delivering a top combat animation. Kudos to the animation team for this
Although I’m now confused whether we’ll ever return to the sect alliance where Xiaochun originated from or will we just keep chugging along the story elsewhere now
it’s amazing, but they dropped some nice details in the novel. like gongsun wan’er is supposed to fight five demigods and still repel them but here only 2 and hell emperor comes out. and i suspect that they changed the fact regarding the mask that xiaochun wears in this episode. plus if u refine the mask more, using the turtle wok, who can possibly see through this thing?
Yeah – a few years ago, so many BAD TLs ruined so many GOOD donghua for me – like I still have no idea what happened in S4 of Quanzhi Fashi (Full-Time Magister) due to the source I used at the time using the worst machine translations I’d ever seen in my life! One of these days I’ll go back and watch it again here so I can at least have an idea of what they were saying! I can’t recall if it was A4i, LD, DW, A.L, or which site it was, but they used to do real translations but at some point they went to full MTL and it was IMPOSSIBLE to follow at that point and I was SO disappointed! There used to be some guy called Mizu who did the subs, but he’d put in little jokes here and there and people hated him and ratioed him to death on the social media donghua sites, ans considering the dude was just doing translations for himself and his friends and not only were his subs getting stolen but people were crucifying him and harassing him on his personal social media accounts over the stolen and re-steamed subs, so he just stopped subbing entirely and the site I was using at the time (9A) got their subs from one of the donghua sites that just gave up and went full MTL. Needless to say: most donghua wasn’t very pleasant to watch anymore until I found Xin’s site! Some of the big shows still got real TLs on the other donghua sites, but unless you were watching Soul Land or BTTH, chances were your show’s TL was gonna suck, so you can’t believe how happy I was when I found Xin and his great TLs! I know some ppl still complain, but even Xin’s WORST TL is SOOO much better than the BEST TL on most of these other sites. So THANK YOU XIN! You rock!

So, her secret identity? She’s actually the daughter of Heavenspan Daoist—the man who once conquered half of the Arch-Emperor Realm and nearly stepped into the Celestial Realm, the first realm of the second step in cultivation.
But here’s the twist: the world they live in isn’t a normal world. It’s actually the sealed corpse of a mighty being, called Arch Emperor and cultivation in this world is capped at the peak of the first step—Demigod level. No one can truly ascend to the Celestial Realm from within it.
There are only two known ways to escape this sealed world:
At this point in the story, Bai Xiaochun only has the Undying Codex, but later on, Du Lingfei obtains the Live Forever Codex. Through a complex turn of events, everything Du Lingfei cultivates ends up being transferred to Xiaochun.
Of course, there’s tragedy involved—caused by both Heavenspan Daoist and the Hell Emperor. Du Lingfei suffers the most, largely because of her father’s stubbornness. In the end, she becomes the girl who waits for Xiaochun forever, even choosing to hide from him out of guilt.
As for Heavenspan Daoist, he doesn’t have the right inheritance or maybe he can’t cultivate it. In short, his problem isn’t talent, rather he’s too talented. But without the correct inheritance, he can’t be allowed to get out of arch emperor world. Therefore, he can’t accept his fate. He refuses to wither away in a dilapidated world. He wants to ascend. He wants to reach the higher realms… even if it means dooming everyone else.
That’s a lot of spoilers but I appreciate it. Makes me excited knowing there’s a lot more depth to the story.

If they keep up their previous scheduling, Season 4 will release around July 2026: Season 1 was August 2020, Season 2 was July 2022, Season 3 was July 2024, and Season 4? Probably July 2026.
Regardless, they haven’t made an announcement on the release date yet. There is a trailer, but that’s it.
