And we get to see Granny Si again in this episode, but of course, she gets restricted in using her real appearance cause people can’t control themselves lol. 😅😅😅
I don’t even think her beautiful appearance would work on Qin Mu, but I guess the majority of the people there still need to be taken into consideration. 🤔🤔🤔 And the Grand Mentor didn’t want things to be messy for Qin Mu’s coronation ceremony. I don’t think Granny Si is “just” beautiful. My guess is that she possesses a special physique that results in supernatural charm on top of beauty itself.
It’s the kind of thing you see often enough that it’s not a stretch to assume, especially given how big a problem it is for her.
That said, this episode pretty heavily implied that she’s been wrestling with possession for 40 years not because she was incapable of beating it, but because she couldn’t even TRY; the old master was needed to pass down the teachings, so she couldn’t get rid of him until the sect agreed on a new master.
Somehow, that makes it so much worse. Like living with a violent ex because you need to protect something more important than yourself.
Yeah, and she has to get rid of that said inner demons of hers. Granny Si has her own problems to tackle fam. 😔😔😔

Just like our beloved ones who have passed away, as long as their words still echo in our hearts, they live on. And if we pass their wisdom to our sons and daughters, then they, (and therefore we) will live forever.

“The Way of the Sage is no different from what the common people use daily. Anything different is heresy. Acting according to one’s nature, purely following the natural order, is called the Way.”
This is the fundamental doctrine of the Heavenly Sage Sect, and also the opening and main chapter of the *Great Nurturing Heavenly Demon Scripture*.
Any doctrine that cannot be used by the common people, whether it be the Way of Gods, the Way of Demons, or the Way of Zen, is heresy.
Anything that can be used by the common people in their daily lives is the true Way.

[Origin]
While traveling, Wei Suifeng encountered a woodcutter in the mountains.
The woodcutter wielded his axe, chopping down pine and cypress trees with orderly, methodical movements, seemingly containing profound principles. Each time the pine or cypress tree received a blow, a new piece would grow back, restoring it to its original state.
Wei Suifeng knew he had met a sage descended from heaven. He approached the woodcutter to seek his guidance.
The woodcutter sat on a rock beside the pine and cypress tree and began to preach,
for decades. Wei Suifeng was filled with boundless enlightenment, yet still not satisfied, he asked the woodcutter how to become a sage.
The woodcutter said, to become a sage, one must establish virtue, establish merit(action),
establish speech—the three establishments, the three eternal.
Wei Suifeng then asked how to achieve the three eternal.
The woodcutter explained, understand principles, understand knowledge, and understand teachings—the three understands, teacher of ten thousand people (masses).
Wei Suifeng was greatly enlightened; to become a sage, one must first achieve the three understands. He compiled the teachings of the sages into a book, which later became known as the *Great Healing Heavenly Demon Scripture*. This is understanding the principles. He traveled the world for hundreds of years, passing on the principles transmitted by the sage to others. Those who heard it internalized it as their own principles. “from mouth to ear, one speak one listen; this is understand knowledge.”
The word “teaching” in the Mingjiao (明教) means to impart and educate. Therefore, he established a sect to spread the teachings of the sages to the world. To commemorate the guidance of the woodcutter sage, he named the sect “Tianshengjiao” (天圣教).
The 360 paths of cultivation in the woodcutter’s scripture are the origin of the 360 halls of Tianshengjiao. Wei Suifeng achieved understanding the principles, understanding the knowledge, and understanding the teachings; he established virtue and words, but he failed to achieve merit(action) and ultimately did not become a sage. In his later years, he pondered deeply, unsure where his merit lay. To explore the three establishments leading to sagehood, he embarked on an even longer journey.

This is a spoiler but Kaishan is the first student of Woodcutter and later Woodcutter takes Qin Mu as — I forgot — second or third disciple.. doesn’t matter.. but what’s important is Woodcutter is actually a general working under Qin Mu’s ancestor.. if u guys check wiki, u know that Qin Mu’s birth name is Qin Fengqing, he’s a descendant of a once almighty empire that ruled Great Ruins before.. also, Kaishan Sect Master is actually alive, he’s trapped in a boat travelling through the vicissitudes fragment of time… ⏳🛶

well.. probably u just don’t get it.. they’re quite apparent in several prev episodes.. also the doctrine and stuff are also different. apparently trying to bring down education to common people is considered demonic path by dao sect people.. since probably the quality will be degraded.. also there are a lot of sect members misusing the art given by the sect to practice heretical stuff. thus, it can be demonic. while the great teaching of saint cult is actually to teach common people from many aspects, it can also be twisted by those with filthy desires. moreover, qin mu himself commented at some point that the sect is demonic bcs of some people misusing this and so on.. so yea under qin mu, heavenly saint cult will be reformed.. don’t worry abt it if u don’t get it.. i mean u can grasp the clue if u follow thoroughly from the beginning but i think following eps will also explain a lot..
