It’s amazing to see how far it came. The story quality has always been peak but it came a long way graphics wise and that didn’t make me love it any less, it was my very first donghua along with The Success of Empyrean Xuan Emperor (😂), Perfect World and Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation.
I love Nie Li, he’s one of my all time favourite characters.

My heart went out to Nie Li from episode one when he woke up in class as his younger self after dying in battle, and he said he’d do everything to help his friends and the others who died bravely fighting the beast wave, despite being weak, after the nobles betrayed them and left. I love his intelligence, his awareness of his past life, the knowledge he carried over and his determination to prevent that tragedy.
There’s something deeply personal about how author phrases his thoughts that speaks to me at a deeper level. How I still remember some of his sentences years after I read them
