I really can’t take Cui Chan seriously sometimes, especially with how powerful we already know he is sulking right there on the side lol. Damn, I didn’t expect that this episode would also be the last time they get to spend time together. It’s time for them to go their separate ways. Ngl, if they are destined, they will surely meet again, and who knows, maybe by that time all of them have grown up and become powerful cultivators/Immortals. This donghua always surprises you with how well they animated it, sheesh!!! Every episode just keeps getting better and better. Hopefully, the coming seasons won’t disappoint us, fam. I want this series to be finished like the rest of the donghuas we’ve all seen. Author’s kind of pissing me off, he keeps using children as the focal point of tragedy. It’s effective but it’s like being a bad sportsman, it’s shameful to do it too often.
I know many must be confused about the yapping and all, but overall it really showed how Chen Ping’an character is built. The Sage told Chen Ping’an about Confucianism, so it didnt click on him since he just want a well being for his group of friend, he dont want to become a “wall” for his friends so he decided to leave them for their own growth. Meanwhile, he only pursuit the Dao (in this context its Daoism), to be back to become Cheng Pingan the character that protect his group as in his own nature that he must follow.
but anyway all can be complementary to each other, as in saying “A Confucian in office, a Daoist at sea”. Lets see whats Chen Pingan has to offer the next story. XD

He’s not a daoist nor he becomes one or studies, he’s Confucius, and his teacher along with Qi and Cui are a Confucius sage’s disciples, who study good and bad, society, mortals and all the other things I don’t know, different from Daoism who want to be in harmony with nature and don’t want to be touched by mortal dust or something.
What a beautiful episode. People who understand mandarin must be getting the utmost taste of the series.

Beautiful episode, very emotional tho I was happy to see that MC moved away from them, letting them to grow, study, cultivate etc… now its time for his development to shift up, enought with the kids, it was funny, cute and all but the story must go a bit serious and deeper. Hope the next ep will about his cultivating!

Chen Ping’an refuses to officially become a disciple of the Sage of Literature for two main reasons: first, until a few months ago, Chen Ping’an was illiterate (he learned to read and write thanks to the medicinal recipe given to him by the fortune teller Lu Chen in the first season), and therefore lacks a vast culture, which initially never mattered to him; and second, because the Sage of Literature is the master chosen for him by someone else (Qi Jingchun), not by himself. Chen Ping’an believes that although it is the master who decides whether or not to accept someone as his disciple, the disciple must also choose to accept someone as his master. For Chen Ping’an, the fact that the master chosen for him is the Sage of Literature (one of the exponents of Confucianism) doesn’t matter; he first wants to understand whether it’s really worth becoming his disciple and accepting his teachings, even if doing so means missing out on an important opportunity. The Sage of Literature understood this and didn’t try to convince him further. However, he recommended some books for him to read, but not to take the principles gleaned from the books as absolute truths. He also advised him to follow his heart and not be afraid of making mistakes, not to grow too quickly, and not to seek perfection in everything he does (unfortunately, Chen Ping’an is stubborn and hasn’t yet grasped the depth of this advice).
So Chen Ping’an is turning back because he began cultivating/practicing martial arts solely for survival (later, as we’ve seen, he’ll begin to aspire to higher goals). He’s never cared about becoming a scholar, and he’s recently purchased a couple of mountains and a few shops in his local town, so everything that’s happened to him is sudden and unexpected.
As for the boys, being disciples of Qi Jingchun, they will continue their studies at the academy he founded.
Now there will probably be some episode of him going back and then arriving in his hometown and then he will start training seriously
