I’d say that’s the worst sh*t they ever invented on ji ziyue. and why the heck ji hui is acting so close with ziyue, in fact they’re not that close in the og story. she’s like ji biyue’s aunt, if i remember correctly. and ji biyue is that betch who wants to kill ziyue secretly. also that feud with yaoguang holy son, the plot is flawed, there was supposed to be “masked” conflict after getting out of origin ancient mine, bcs of the phoenix blood gold, where yaoguang is highly suspected to use his dao body in disguise to attack ye fan in yaochi (jade lake) holy land. ofc at that time, he’s gu feng but the li fire furnace is out already. that’s why ye fan said to yaoguang, we know what’s going on, don’t pretend. the thing is if they go with the original plot, I’d agree with what ye fan said, now it seems that ye fan was too petty. Moreover, instead of going with the already ok og plot, they instead want to make ye fan to have that cool moments on defeating three geniuses at the same level with dao yi holy lady. honestly, that place is not even daoyi holy land’s in the og story. they just made a lot of mess that can’t be salvaged. i mean, chaos stone is a bed of great emperor, ok? and then only people like peacock king who can use chaos stone as an artifact. it’s even questionable that ye fan can activate or deactivate it. originally, every genius including ji haoyue was so trapped in that chaos stone. but ye fan goes in with myriad qi cauldron and strolling. he’s slapping that little peng king to establish authority and released his resentment. he also saw ji haoyue but decided not to act against him out of consideration of ji ziyue. it shows that his relation with ziyue is sincere. and now they redo the plot like a clown. i honestly don’t understand, they could just take the original plot with little edits, maybe with less characters and less dynamics from the novel then just do adaptation properly. instead they decided to go wild and screw up every plot line possible. I mean, I keep comparing this to PW. They did a good job with the story, ofc there are some edits, but those are within acceptable range. They’re just lacking bloody scenes. I guess they’re trying hard to keep it PG-13.

lol~ actually, you’re right. i’m currently drinking coffee. haha~ it’s just i have lots of expectations for this donghua. you know, more expectations, more disappointment. i mean, the novel is such a masterpiece. even when you’re reading it from less proper fan translation like novelhi. i mean, it would be great if they have the translation as well in lightnovelworld or webnovelpub. the experience reading them might be different and there wouldn’t be so many inconsistencies in translations. do you know that someone posted in the wiki comment on ye fan page for the newest fan translation? they only made it to 100+ chapters but it’s much better than the original translation. It’d be great if we do our own fan translation and make money from that literally. It’s a shame that to do that maybe you should have some passion in reading the stories. Good stories like Shrouding the Heavens are rare and imo, honestly, donghua screwed it up. One man show is supposed to be Shi Hao’s thing, not Ye Fan, at least in his early career. he’s not heaven warping martial talent like Shi Hao. he’s just some mortal, with a decent comprehension talent which obviously grows over time, and having some legendary long lost physique. Ye Fan is not some kind of guy who wants to become a contender in Great Emperor path, at least not now. The guy just want to go home! That’s why he’s obsessed with Ancient Void Scripture and literally annoys Ziyue a lot before getting his hand on the real thing and getting hunted as consequences. Who cares about Great Emperor, Dao Cutting, Invincibility and so on? What he cared the most is his old parents that doesn’t have a lot of time to spare to wait for him to come back! And the most frustrating thing is that lots of annoying bastards are in the way of him cultivating and searching for the way home! And you know, the result is, he’s late, by three years!!! If he’s early only by three years, he could’ve at least see his parents one more time and live a lifetime with them as a mortal, living his greatest wish! But, author just wouldn’t let him get his wish, bcs author has greater plan for him, to use his undying obsession to step on the path of immortality and presumably help Huang to conquer the strange plateau.

1. my take on this episode: are you talking about him or yourself? damn, jiang taixu is so cool~ at least he’s one senior that deserves the title divine king.cool later people realized that he’s already a Saint at this moment. it’s just his life force is declining, no one notices Spoiler getting impaled on a city wall by ye’s spear
2. My regret on this episode: What I regret from this episode is that, they didn’t make the scene, “There are more?” from Jiang Taixu too epic. If you read the novel, ch. 401 in novelhi, it’s way too epic, that words were repeated like two or three times, having others almost laugh while twitching their brows. Even Jiang Taixu who’s usually calm and otherworldly was almost laughing and angry at the same time. Btw, when Jiang Taixu saw Jiang Yichen, he most likely take a look into Yichen’s memory and found out cause and effect, that’s why he commented that way. Another regret from this episode is that, they actually made Ji Ziyue went into seclusion! Damn the studio skipped the naughty girl’s scenes for ridiculous reasoning! It’d be great if she’s there and said, “That guy (Ye Fan) is too evil. He suppressed so many people with him. Luckily brother is not among them.” This is one of the greatest wish of Ji Ziyue, she wants to suppress Haoyue. I mean fuk that Ji Hui, why is she given a space in this episode, while that’s supposed to be Ziyue’s screen time? What a dumb move to make Ziyue goes to “bi guan” as in closed door meditation or seclusion. How can they skip this originally beautiful scenes and replace this with someone disgusting and ridiculous? right, who’s that woman at the end of episode, an miaoyi’s attendant, but she said, my family’s young master wants to see you. maybe feng family?
3. regarding his enmity with ji family: the early story has ye fan went to 7th level of fire domain under the protection of bodhi seed to collect five colored fire in his myriad qi cauldron and used it to kill ji chengdao (one great elder of ji family) and burned half the body of ji hui (almost killed her for real). that incident was the original point where his sacred body was made clear to the world. obviously, he definitely didn’t meet ziyue and hua yunfei after getting out of fire domain, unlike what donghua has done. ofc, void scripture was also the first factor.
4. extra comment: and yeah, I’ll say this multiple times, but the appearance of Weiwei is being so forced. She’s supposed to appear at early episodes after Ye Fan and friends got out of ancient desolate forbidden region, then Elder Wu follows and take them in. Weiwei is a Spirit Ruins Paradise immortal seed. She’s actually gonna be sent to Yaoguang Holy Land afterwards. So, Spirit Ruins Paradise is actually a part of Yaoguang Holy Land. Remember that 0.1 second flashback like blinking? The one that gives the appearance of immortal palace in the clouds outside the forbidden region? That’s some guilty feeling of the producer, right? I mean I don’t mind editing the story, but it’s definitely not appropriate for her to appear late and having Ye Fan calls her senior sister and letting her save him from a guy called Gu Litian? I mean, he totally didn’t need her in the novel and he’s doing just fine. She appears multiple times and recognized Ye Fan when no one else did, but she keeps secretly hinting him to save himself and giving him information. No one understands shit if they’re not novel reader. And it’s worse for novel reader since they understand, how big of a disappointment that is. It’s like having this random girl who appeared out of nowhere and let Ye Fan called her senior sister. I mean, Ye Fan didn’t even officially join Spirit Ruins Paradise. do you guys remember when Ye Fan caught Yaoguang Holy Son together with Yao Xi and Little Peng King? There should be an incident where Ye Fan stays as Gu Feng at Yaochi, after going back from Origin Ancient Mine, but some kind of spirit or dao body from someone’s dao palace attacked him at night for the sake of phoenix blood gold. The highest suspect is Yaoguang Holy Son. They cut this story and expected people who watched donghua to understand. I literally checked previous episodes and saw this illogical move from donghua. Hmmm.
5. the parts from before when saving jiang taixu: ye fan actually used three methods/prescriptions: 1) half bottle of divine spring from ancient desolate forbidden area (the one he usually used), 2) essence of a melted divine fruit he got from betting stones, 3) essence of divine medicine (true dragon divine medicine), the one that ye fan almost caught, in several episodes before, i think ep. 107, he got a freakin’ pearl. but in novel, he got some essence blood of divine medicine, like nine drops.
6. next ep. preview: dang, it was hinted quite clearly, ye fan and an miaoyi will be
that’s it, other than that, actually I like this donghua a lot. And they still capture the characters correctly, it’s just the novel adaptation they presented in donghua could be better. I mean, Chen Dong’s novels were supposed to be trilogy, I’d like it if they make this more carefully. Are they in conjunction with PW production studio, though?

it’s officially red gold, not full gold, i mean, the blood color. wdym crossover, not gonna happen so fast, it will wait until the third in trilogy, Sacred Ruins. it’s a shame they didn’t really make it properly, even in the original story, only having some of the battles at the very end. honestly, idk how you define the best donghua, your preference? imdb stars? or any other standards? for me, i saw too many loopholes. even though i want to be lenient and don’t want to say too much, i watch and rewatch, only to see they adapted the novel into such a mess. there’s plotholes everywhere and it’s kinda unacceptable. i still kinda like the donghua though. although, from objective pov, idk what could make this donghua be that great after all that mess (I listed all them in my comm above).
