Completely satisfied with how this series was handled by the production house. The finals scenes from what was the most tragic moments of this series was a surprising touch. Put a smile on my face and a sense of finality. Nicely done. As for the gang, they all got their happy ending and that is all we really needed.
I think they changed the ending from novel, but its good enough.

They made the best choice of Emperor, Xiao Se always had a taste for freedom. I just don’t know why someone that will not be emperor needed the 4 guardians then, mythical symbols are always reserve for The One.
I’m happy with the ending though. I love a story with beginning, middle and end, I want to go to my grave knowing how things turned out.
And I got to hear all my favourite tunes from this donghua at the end. So glad for that last glimpse!

1) there’s not much chemistry between Xiao Se and the Spear Deity’s daughter (and as usual they chose a grown woman to play a little girl),
2) they made the Lei boy the comic relief. I guess someone had 2b because it’s a staple character in China’s prime time TV. but he’s light hearted, not clown. Overall I recommend watching✨
