Alright. I won’t be watching this one then. Since discovering Xin, I don’t use nor trust other sites. It might be a neurodivergent thing. I don’t handle change well, and I hyperfixate on things. So if something ain’t broke, I have no intention of fixing it.
And Asura is part of Xi Xing Ji world.

We’re in the same boat. It’s also like the Fate series, where there are so many different storylines. There’s the main story and a bunch of side stories (prequels).
I started the Fate series 10 months ago and I’m still trying to finish. Just starting the Fate/Extra-Last Encore, then Apocrypha, then the Carnival Phantasms (IF I like them, it’s just parodies and optional) and I’ll put it behind me.
It’s a beast to decide a watch order as everyone has their own criteria, preferences or things we chose to skip.
There’s a Fate/Strange Fake announced, and a last couple of obscure, loosely related titles but I covered all that mattered and a few that didn’t so, I’m about done xD

I was curious about that. I had a gut feeling this was related to Westward. But I haven’t seen any of the donghuas in that series.

This series is a prequel to Xi Xing Ji The Westward that just finished airing a few months back after multiple seasons. This series is set before he joins the gang to protect the Flame as she travels West. Here he meets the Flame for the first time to get a glimpse of his future. Asura was also a prequel for another character from the series.

There’s like 10 different seasons, specials, OVAs, ONAs, prequels and sequels 😵💫 and I haven’t even started watching the first one from 2018. I guess I’ll be back in a year or 2 😂 Too much to watch for now and I don’t like rushing. Marked as Planned, till we meet again 😬

Always love a good prequel and this one will The Westward Xi Xing Ji nicely. Wukong is everyone’s favourite character from the franchise. We finally get to see when he first meet the Flame and she sets his path to his future. Our boy needs to grow before he joins TS and the gang.
Looking forward to this series. The artwork is right up there.
