Disappointed. Don’t know what the studio is thinking. Inventing so many unnecessary stuff in the past few episodes. The Xiaofan help Dao Xuan thing didn’t happen in novel. Dao Xuan can break the seal on his own and draw power from the 7 peaks into the sword array. All the peak masters already returned to the peak for this.
Therefore, donghua also skipped the fact that Xiaofan got distracted and stunned by Xueqi arrival and cannot react fast enough to Jingyu’s strike. Luckily, the strike is blocked by Xueqi. Also skipped the scene where Xiaofan stand in front of Xueqi again to face Jingyu with Xueqi looking at xiaofan’s back.

Xiaofan wasn’t putting power into the array, he was reducing the backlash from the malice. That was the whole thing about him being of “3 streams” where he might be able to arrange the Tai Chi array to reduce the backlash on the user, which is what he did. Quinyun’s ghost thingy said he wanted to finish that part of the array but wasn’t able to with the stream he practiced or before he died or something like that.

They word their contracts with the authors so they can do as they please and if the artist tries to go against any plot butchery later they hit him with crippling financial sanctions. and most artists are too young and isolated to know how to protect the integrity of their work and consider themselves lucky that they’re being paid at all.
