Jade wasn’t expecting the Sage to be so calm about all this. He seemed to of been thinking he would get more pushback on turning up himself. Jade making it clear CS has to decide this himself 1. shows he doesnt want anything to do with this outside of his authority of being present .2 trust in CS which offsets 1
So the issue here is that while many in the Tao are happy to trust CS with how he is guiding it all. There are still many factions within the factions that are seeking personal gain.
The Twins are bad enough fucking up the world for their own gains, it would be nice if the other Sages stayed united [and controlled their people].

My heart only started beating once the end credits rolled. The political tension in this episode had me breathless. Indeed, I had no idea how this was going to unfold. I believe I’m clever, but not enough to navigate or survive politics or court life. This is the same tension. I feel when watching Apothecary Diaries, Kingdom, or any other politically or psychologically focused show.
