this is one of the very worst adaptations that have ever been produced, the original story is not exactly changed to the point where it is unrecognizable, its the pacing, its so fast it makes no sense, at one scene you are, lets say in the novel chapter 10, the next scene, not chapter, the next scene you are in chapter 320, and you get a “5 seconds” flashback of the previous 300 chapters, then the next scene you are at chapter 1250, and skipped about 7 plotpoints, and the story feels incongruent for “you are not in the loop of whats going on”, if you read the novel you can “piece things together” but is not because the donghua is telling you ANYTHING AT ALL, but because you had the patience and calmnes of mind to read that novel(like I did and regret, well not exactly, the 9 provinces arc was good or rather – better than just tolerable – is just, bee, the author only know how to use 3 plot devices, nothing else, so over the natural repetitive escalator trope that this genre is plagued with, you see the same plot devices over and over and oever again because the author DOES NOT know how to write anything else)
The novel is currently at 6513 chapters and still going strong. Would be awesome if it covers the entire series.
