So apparently the studio rushed this entire season. Skipped a lot of events and changed the plot tremendously, for e.g. Lin Dong was not supposed to reunite with Ling Qingzhu this early. They doing the same thing with BTTH as well.
Apparently the reason for this is because of the Great Ruler season 2. But again thats no reason to rush this season like this. 🥲
I really hope they do not censor the crap out of this like with BTTH, cause Ling Dong has 2 wives. Ling Qingzhu and Ying HuanHuan. And Ying Huan Huan is my favourite character in this donghua, so if they fuck up her character G.G. 🤦
Just be prepared this will become a norm. The general trend is to move away from the strategy of adapting a novel and animate it for 10 years. Except for the absolute peak stories, the studios and general audience would find it tiring to follow so many stories that takes so long to finish. Novel readers would definitely find it unbearable, but people with no knowledge of the original story is generally able to accept the increased pace.
The question is if its the Director like the author of btth said, or the studio itself. Either way they got the big IP’s and then they upset people.
Agreed, a lot left out and or changed to fit this narrative. Totally rushed, which is sad because of the three novels this is my favourite. Next season should pretty well be the last with how it has been paced, unless the final clash becomes its own season.
The show went that way already in the previous season, the marker is always when the studio makes a face change like they did on BTTH, from then on the show is just about the MC looking good and boring fights. What made the show good was gone.
