As an Immortal reaches a certain level of strength (generally Immortal Marquis), they will obtain the true Immortal Body. At this level, their life and soul imprints are completely merged with their body. Every cell will contain soul imprints, allowing one to reform their body even if their body is annihilated. This brings them extremely close to true immortality, as even their body being completely destroyed will not kill them, if their Divine Power has not been destroyed. As a result, it is very difficult for World Masters to kill Immortals at this stage; generally they would require a special treasure that could destroy Divine Power. However, if one can destroy that Divine Power, the merger of body and soul results in a substantial loss of power if too much Divine Power is lost.

Deep Sleep (generally described as 陷入沉睡, Xiànrù chénshuì, Lit. Falling into a deep sleep) is a physical and mental condition where a being is alive but has no idea of being alive. Beings fall into a Deep Sleep due to extensive damage to their souls. Immortals fall into this state if they lose enough of their Divine Body, since the Divine Body is a fusion of their body and their soul. As a result, True Gods do not fall into a Deep Sleep even after receiving heavy damage to their Divine Body, since their body and soul are no longer fused. Since True Gods and higher can be killed or enslaved via soul techniques, one would imagine they could also be forced into a Deep Sleep through soul techniques.
In the Deep Sleep state beings cannot control their physical bodies, energy, or mental state. Therefore they are vulnerable to all sorts of attacks, a common attack being Soul Enslaving (or similar techniques), where a being without their will is forced to become the Soul Slave of the attacker. King Heavy Arrow became Luo Feng’s Soul Slave by being forced into Deep Sleep and then getting attacked by Soul Enslaving. • Or one can fall into a state of decay and eventually resulting in True Death.

The body eroding thing is when someone reach undying level, they become “immortal” thus the undying (can revive even after your physical form perishes). it is not truly immortal though however because everytime you revive you lose a percentage of your soul which if you lose everything you die for real. think of it as a recovering vitality energy, you use everything in one sitting, you gonna die.
