This donghua and its story just keep escalating to insane levels like always, bro. No one is getting any breather this season, MC included. We know he has been to some crazy shit from the start, but this, sheesh!!! A lot of people are going to die in this episode. 😓 😓 😓
So after dealing with the Beast God, now they have to deal with the Zhuxian Sword that’s clearly getting out of control, fam. I don’t even think these guys have the time to recover after all of that battle with the Beast God previously.
Also, I will never understand why Zhang Xiaofan is doing everything he can to save the asses of these people who were literally trying to kill him a second ago. I know his reason is that he really wants to destroy that thing, but seriously, bro isn’t paying attention to his surroundings.
Again, a lot is going on in this episode cause they keep going back and forth with what’s happening. The next thing goes back to Zhang Xiaofan, and then it goes back to the sect leader, old man. So much drama is happening, and all because of that Zhuxian Sword. 🫠 🫠 🫠

I wish the sword went berserk before ZX/GL struck it because the way it ended up happening here is that it radiated malice due to his reckless provocation instead
And though it did inadvertently exposed the sword’s malicious nature to a few discerning people, he also risked himself and sacrificed a bunch of rando fodder in the sect in the process lol
It feels like his journey is much more passively reactive and gets totally lackluster with who he’s siding with/what his goals are this season, something that I ended up ranting about on my other comment below

When we the viewers and the mc, we see that this freaking sword must be destroyed.

So he managed to drain the Demon path from the sword that was corrupting, then take the Righteous path from it as well, Merge to his unique path, turning it in a piece of garbage i guess.
So what now they actively hunt him because they think 1. he killed the Elder, and 2. fucked up the sword that was pretty evil in the first place.
Pretty much what you said fam. They see our boi as an enemy for what he did but these guys don’t see the bigger picture of keeping that sword sealed to be used again later. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

Xiaofan is too good for that bunch of blind sheep. And I always supported Lu Xueqi for FL but she’s getting on my nerves now with her constant wrong assumptions. She might have saved him on the spur of the moment but it doesn’t make up for the rest. Even a beginner in spiritual matters can see that the golden light mixed with the red couldn’t come from the same evil source so there’s 2 forces at play and the other one can only be Xiaofan.

The “drama” is ridiculous in the show, it puts bollywood to shame. Whatever generates more artificial conflict, no matter how atrociously stupid it is, will be used repeatedly. It turned into a parody of itself, I just can’t take it seriously anymore.

Yeah this season fell off hard I guess, ever since the focus shifted to all sects facing one way or another with the beast god instead of the prior mystery of what’s truly right vs wrong in this cultivation world
That part of the story got sidelined so hard into the realms of misunderstanding melodrama, with the only briefly interesting character being that Dragon Sword Elder I forgot the name of who sacrificed himself to make ZX/Gui Li help extend the Zhuxian sword formation
The tone and context of the story became confusing the longer it goes
Like, why did the Beast God started rampaging the moment he got revived? It looked like he did it because he’s heartbroken
Why is the righteous sect fine with the malice filled Zhuxian sword? (Though I suspect this will be explored later in the story)
Why did Ghost King sect ended up just dealing advantage of the situation and do a total power grab? Where are his faction ended up being with all this? Does he actually have a greater end goal beyond the cliche supposed power hungry villain?
What the heck was ZX/Gui Li’s goal for the last few episodes? Bro got depressed for failing to resurrect his savior, got a hint to check out the hidden illusion caves, encountered the secret elder who saved his heart from malice and got killed by who I assume to be the other second in command of his current sect master besides ZX/GL (I’m still confused why that ghost guy nonchalantly attacked the old fortune teller’s group even though his boss (Ghost King) seems to be their friend), fought his childhood rival from seemingly a pointless misunderstanding, ended up following the wishes of Dragon Sword Elder in helping with the Zhuxian Sword formation, but then got to destroying it anyways
He’s the MC yet this season feels more like the story’s happening to him and he’s just rapidly passive reacting, instead of him taking an active role in pushing the story forward

Oops I accidentally watch episode 20 and confused why is ZX all battered up… that’s why I didn’t watch this first hahaha! So it was literally a misunderstanding from MCs perspective and the Sects members that he destroyed the sword but It was him who removed the malice from it (eventually smashing the sword in the process)
