In the Chaotian Continent, Jing Jiu lives a quiet life in the mountains until he unexpectedly takes Liu Shisui, a naturally gifted Taoist, as his servant. Together, they join the Qingshan Sect, but their odd master-servant relationship draws attention. Despite being ordinary, Jing Jiu shocks everyone by keeping the extraordinary Liu Shisui at his side. During the Chengjian Conference, they meet Zhao Layue, a mysterious girl from Shenmo Peak. Jing Jiu, who just wants to practice in peace, finds himself entangled in a massive conflict that could reshape the world. As fate intervenes, their journey takes them far beyond the green mountains.

solid story, interesting pacing, stellar soundtrack and music timing, creative storytelling style – the pacing of this is pretty key to how the audience receives it! the entire studio deserves an award because this is one of the most innovative ones to come out in the last 2 years.
snapshot: they open with essentially 2 stoic main characters in dramatically different places in the world and 2 deaths – one seemingly minor (the death of an escaped demon) and one seemingly major (the death of what looks like some sort of clan elder) but give you no detail around which. in the background is what seems to be a very obvious major event of an elder from the same sect as the stoic woman ascending out of the mortal realm, complete with a crowd narrating what seems to be a big ass fight happening to stop him from doing so. but you don’t get to see it. the camera remains on a single character with the narrator intoning that everything you just saw in the last 3 minutes is all connected to one MASSIVE continent-altering event. the stoic man (the second of our 2 stoic main characters) seems to be an elder from somewhere else also standing in front of a dead body. and that’s how they drop you into this EPIC tale about a bunch of people fighting for/against their destinies who gather around a character who seemingly could not care less about doing either. this is a treasure for sure!
