honestly donghua is unrealistic when picturing those assassins. they should be able to almost take ye fan’s life since especially this is their first encounter and ye fan is inexperienced in fighting them. his fight with those assassins were too relaxed for real… ye fan is becoming more and more like long aotian. plus chen dong’s work is totally ruined at this point…

today’s episode felt like a pretty good adaptation.. i honestly liked the part where they let doctor wang diagnosed him and how they meet old madman again, i thought he was gonna be diagnosed in secret but turns out they’re doing it publicly, which solves many hesitations.. but i’m not sure abt the fight scene here, especially that they made a new scene. they totally made these assassins as mere cannon fodder. moreover, they are supposed to target even xiao nannan. cuz why? cuz they’re freakin’ shameless. 🙄 🙄 🙄 😛
look at this passage in ch 475 novelhi regarding celestial court’s art of killing.. they call it illusion divine art – materializing in nothingness and killing without a trace, plus that dragon shaped taoist body. he use it wander between void (intangible – not like void art of ji family i suppose) and real (tangible). in short, while ye fan was exhausted, he was still incredible and the way they cornered ye fan was nothing less than a miracle, which proved the might of “world of mortals” (called human world here). in any case, i’m not sure about the way they execute celestial court killing technique here.. but the name of four symbols absolute assassination technique is pretty accurate and the way they make ye fan’s body sink like in a swamp was quite accurate as well. 😏 😏 😏
but in novel ch. 476, he didn’t need to execute killing technique for breaking out of this killing formation. well in any case, i personally still don’t feel like they fully appreciate the real fight depicted in the novel. after all, it looks a bit too easy for ye fan here… plus ye fan donghua is too snobbish as usual. like isn’t his words totally belittling those from human world? they’re not ur daily snacks bruh he’s totally underestimating them. adaptation is kinda insulting his enemies level one by one, which is honestly a bit disappointing imo.. like is there truly no struggle for the mc? in novel, he literally almost died~ u can even say that his flashbacks might as well be placed when those assassins are targeting him, not when little peng king did. after all, they almost pierce his glabella, where his primordial spirit resides! remember, that’s the weakness of humanoid creatures! and many more creatures in this world. in that tight situation, he managed to execute celestial court illusion divine art, practically saving himself from the jaws of death.. 😎 😎 😎

I’ve sort of gathered the answer through context, but if anyone is familiar with Chinese culture and the language I’d like this to be confirmed. At 12:40 Ye Fan asks Nannan if she was okay and she shakes her head no. I’ve seen plenty of examples of this in other Donghau.
I’m assuming what is happening is that the phrasing in Mandarin is different than what the subtitles suggest, but considering this happens so often, I suspect this goes beyond translation mistakes. I’m wonder if there is a cultural or language difference in the way you ask someone something that increases the likely hood of a “negative/no” response to things that are normally (at least in western societies) responded to with an “affirmative/yes”.
