Yeah, her reveal wasn’t that surprising because they tend to make the “females dressing as males” fairly obvious in most donghua because the voice is more feminine for their size than a “boy” of that size would be, and they always show at least a little chest bulge, even if it’s not a lot; there’s maybe only been one gender bender reveal that was actually surprising to me in all the donghua I’ve seen that has had this trope (and there have been quite a few).
It might have been Demons and Gods that was a bit of a surprise, but even then, they dropped heavy hints before the actual reveal; I’m saying it was surprising in that she didn’t have all the markers that most donghua cross-dressers have, even though I guessed via context that she was a girl before the actual reveal on account of all the hints.
