Those yellow guys who have given it up belong to a different branch or whatever, their circumstances can also be different. For a theoretical example, they could know that the person they withdrawn for would have them killed if they didn’t -something that wouldn’t affect Wang Lin since he belongs to a different branch, but it would affect them.
So yeah, there are reasons to give it up for sure, it doesn’t necessarily have to be some dark, dirty secret where the winner is the dinner or something. It probably will be like that, but the point is, there are valid reasons to drop out, that wouldn’t affect MC.
