A traditional handmade animation of a full feature movie used to take up to one or two years to make. 24 images per second. Akira for example, whose director was known for his perfectionism and attention to detail down to different nuances of the same colour, took 2 years to make. Studios don’t bother with that anymore.

This is CGI, used in 3D donghuas. Computer Generated Imagery: the creation of still or moving images using computer graphics. Completely different from AI.
