There is a lack of character and world-building and all we have now are fights and nothing else like Perfect (mediocre) World. Natural cultivation progression is thrown out the window in favor of timely power-ups. Everything feels so hollow and soulless.

They need to bring back the Season 1 production staff.

In the novel Mo Longzi hides his true level to Shen Cangsheng, so when they fought before he was holding back each time. In other words Shen was never a threat for Mo Longzi, besides the dragon supreme lords gave him a lot of buffs to make him stronger because he was considered a “genius”.
