Standard decent start, rendering and model quality alone makes this something to keep an eye out for

✨ MC: face like Xiao Chen from “World of Immortals”.

🎭 One of the face types for the year? Chinese studios are notorious for using stock faces. First they made loads of Lan Wangjis (Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation’s love interest), then Ye Xus everywhere (Kings Avatar, Noblesse, etc), or manga is full of Sung Jin-Woos; then Tang San lookalikes, bla bla in between, now it’s Chen Pingnans and this one.

🎨 As expected, the graphics are incredible, at the level of World of Immortals and Eclipse of Illusion. The detail is unbelievable. None of that unrealistic stuff where they heal and all the blood stains and shredded clothes are repaired along with it. And come out smelling of roses. The physical damage is gone but he’s still bloodstained and his clothes in tatters. I like this.

🎼 The music score is a leaf taken out of the same book, so to speak. The dramatic intensity matches the storytelling perfectly.

🎯 I loved it that the protagonist isn’t a fool who lets threats off the hook so they come back later to bite him in the ass.

🍭 Good they pay proper attention to his face as a child. Donghua kids usually have that 3D toy face quality like Gui Li as a little boy in Jade Dynasty, or the little kid from The Demon Hunter. This one and Chen Pingnan had really good individual children’s faces.

❤️‍🔥 The boss is handsome as hell, and looks manly. Donghuas are full of guys who are prettier than their girlfriends xD

💔 The childhood sweetheart (?) is a goner so there’s no romantic attachment for now. Hopefully he’s like Xiao Chen and doesn’t fall for scheming females, nor goes silly over the first pushy big-mouth girl that he crosses paths with.

🌌 The giant head in the sky and him looking up at the massive X trails and giving them the “I Will Kill You” sign are impressive.

🎬 I like the preview style, a part-motion, part still slideshow. Hopefully they make a feature of it like on “Tales of Herding Gods”.

👹 The villains reminded me of the baddies of older Chinese animation, early “Hua Jianghu: Bu Lian Ren” or the first BTTH instead of having only the young, pretty and perfect. A good mix of eye candy and memorable freaks.
